You don't have a problem with yours do you,or have I missed something?
I assume you mean me Bought it in June with 147k on clock then joined this forum in the space of a month and under 500 miles done central locking packed in bonnet warning keeps coming on airbag warning light is latest if I go over 25 miles distance power in engine drops as though it's ready to seize other than that it's immaculate it got a full service week after I bought it so to answer your question No it ain't snapped and the shells have not turned but after reading all this I have no confidence in the car
Did you know that if you spray the LH ( air filter) side bonet catch with WD40 it will often stop the warning ?, worth a try.

My 64 plate D4 HSE failed catastrophically at 31 months old with less than 20K on the clock. New engine and turbos fitted courtesy of JLR (£25.5K repair). Then this morning, a power steering hose rubbed through and dumped all the fluid, suspect it wasn't put back as was!!!!

Might be a silly question but does the 3.6L V8 (as fitted in the FFRR) have the same crank issue?

No, 3.6 is safe from crank failures
Just turbos to worry about on them
Is that a genuine concern on the 3.6L?
Or are you just trying to put me off a RR now?
TBH I really still want a D3 regardless of the horror stories, I have a choice of a 120mile RR (tip top condition) or a 150mile D4 (also tip top).........
Thats thousands of miles.......not that flush at the moment

Grow a set and use it. Life's too short to worry. Chances are it will be perfectly fine.

3rd engine.
Well my MY12 has had a chequered life.
Jan 2017 (72000 miles) engine seized. Recon engine sourced(NWS) and fitted by a garage in Devon
August 2017 I bought the car from a dealer in north London Tradelink Cars Langley I and they did not know an engine had been fitted!! I wouldn’t have bought it.
Oct/nov 2017 (79000 miles) engine seized again. Lucky the NWS engine had 12 months warranty 👍
It took 3 months to get my car back though.
As per instructions from NWS I changed the oil and filter at 500 miles post op! 1000 miles post op and I have just done a 5000 mile oil and filter change. All filters were LR and oil was the recommended Castrol.
But me the engine has gone again. It lasted 6500 miles but the warranty was only valid on the first 12 months.
I now have a £20k paper weight as the RAC Platinum warranty only pays the first £2k.
So I am now in talks with the finance company as it’s technically their car but I feel a solicitor is on my horizon.
Just so it’s not funny any more.
