Mine went from sounding sweet as a nut to sounding like something was flapping under the car to sounding like the engine was full of demented chickens in about 1/2 mile. Found a lay-bye to get pulled over into and that was the last half mile she drove.
Hi
Is it worth getting it up on the ramps to drop the sump before it goes any further and make up some lock washers easy enough to do!

. Were are you going to fit the washers,it's not the Conrod bolts coming loose it's the shells moving within the Conrod!

I'm worried reading this as picked my d3 up last week and it going back in the garage next week because mine 2.7 sounds like a bag of spanners compared to my mates that has twice the mileage on it

I'm just looking at buying my first LR and was honing in on the D3 but this topic has scared me after a bad experience with a Scrooby diesel!
Is this the reason the D3 prices are all over the place? And petrols are so expensive?
Is the v8 more reliable?
Anyone caught the damage with an oil sampling test?

if you have no confidence in the car get rid and the you will be able to sleep at night.
It does concern me when I read a couple of weekends on another forum, two members had snapped cranks that weekend and another member suspected his had just snapped but was awaiting confirmation, just means I will be making sure I always have warranty.
