Retro fit Cruise control
Hi i have had the cruise control buttons fitted to my car but they are unable to operate the cruise control, the garage states that they tried to change the software to make it work, but without sucess, does anybody know if it is possible to get the cruise control to function, does it require an extra ECU to be plugged in, or just a change in the software, i feel that i am nearly there but not quite! Does anybody know the solution?

Thank you, so to confirm once the cruise control panel is fitted to the steering wheel, i do not need any other parts or ECU, but i have to get the garage to enable the function in the ECM and TCM, nothing else?

10FC,
I've also been told that the dealers cannot enable this via their systems as LR will not release the relevant codes based upon the vehicles VIN.....in other words, if it didn't leave the factory with cruise control, the dealers have no ability to enable it.
Is this true?
If so, could a 'knowledgeable chap' such as yourself enable this with your diagnostic wizardry once the switch panel has been installed on the steering wheel? Are any other bits needed or just the switches and a fiddle in the ECU?

Paul that makes sence as my local dealer here in spain said that they tried and were unable to make it work, but i just thought that they either did not try hard, or another part such as an extra ECU need to be installed first,

'Should be' The reason I say that is the Autologic unit has the ability to activate it but until i've tried it on a vehicle that didn't have it initially enabled I can't be 100% sure - i've tried disabling it on mine and then re-enabling it and the procedure works fine
