Very true.....not sure Mrs Notsothin would see it like that when she's stranded at the roadside with the Notsothin kids on a night of rain

There you go with those negative vibes again. Any car you buy could breakdown, then again it might not. My car has stranded us once. We were on our way to France last year when the alternater gave up after 175,000 miles. I can live with that sort of un reliability. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

Had 3 LRs, as my signature shows, the RRS was great but the previous owner f it up in spades and managed to trade it in to a LR dealer who sold it to me with a LR Approved warranty. Looked fantastic and seemed OK but soon started to develop problems, all electrical. Dealer took it back and gave me a full refund and now I have the D4. Fantastic car. Both my Freely and the D4 have each achieved 4 years totally trouble free. So, my advice is buy from a main dealer with a LR warranty and then, when that runs out, put another warranty on it from wherever you want to. Service it and above all else just thank God you're not sitting in a Toyota surrounded by cheap squeaky plastic.
If you do buy the Toyota you will never be able to look at a D4 again without serious regret.
I'm not biased.
Also you get forums like this - lots of help, advice and technical support.FFRR Westminster TDV8
D4 HSE MY12 Aintree Green. Great car
RRS HSE Lux MY11 Stornoway Grey
Freelander2 SD4 HSE-Best car I have ever owned.

I would be concerned that, if you've already decided that it will be reliable, then you'll be subconsciously looking for evidence to back that up already. It might only get worse when you've got one; one drop of oil on the drive, one squeaking brake and you could be down the garage looking for whatever, extremely serious, issue is bound to be causing it.
My advice? Either buy whatever car that is (rightly or wrongly) perceived to be reliable (no evidence necessary) and you may well wind up looking for evidence of it being reliable instead. Alternatively, take a long hard look at what experienced users like Moo are saying when you make your judgement.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Guys any tips on how to search for Land rovers ? Its not as dumb a question as it sounds.. im looking on the Land rover site but it would seem to be the case that not all of the dealers stock is on there (im guessing it has a criteria to meet) so the only other way is too search Land rover dealers in the UK and go to each individual dealers site to search for stock .....EPIC TASK !! ive been through Auto trader an eBay but too no avail ?? HELP !!
