Learnt of a failed MOT
Only a rear brake flexi and headlight aim (which I suspect is because it was in off-road height when I parked it), but also has a fair advisory list of other corroded ferrules, worn pins/bushes etc, it’s inherent smoking habit when cold, and a binding rear service brake, but is more likely the parking brake. Maybe I miscounted my clicks when adjusting it a few weeks back.

Gave it a clean out and found drivers floor soaking wet.
Dried as best I could and got some strimmer wire down the sunroof drain - plenty of crap flowed out, now draining like it should.

Fitted a new started motor, not the easiest of jobs even for my tiny hands and the use of a 2 post lift. Next job before we go away next week is the front lower control arms. That should be interesting....2004 Disco 3 HSE TDV6

Fitted the RAW jack spare wheel winch drive unit received from Brendan yesterday.
Had to cut the back edge of the carpet and "tap" the unit into place locating onto the winch ring.

Investigated why the lower tailgate support wire was different on each side. I could see the feed roller was coming through the trim on one side but not the other.
The top bolt that hold the reel up was loose and the back one behind the tail light cluster was missing altogether. Two new bolts and it then feeds correctly.
As usual steps forward ends with a step back. Noticed that the spring clip that holds the cable end on the
ball fixed to the tailgate is missing. No chance of finding just the clip. A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Semi-annual oil change, 5W-30, just to get someones goat
Filter free from any trace of metal!
And the big job today was replacing the fuel tank cradle. The old one came off quite easy, some of the bolts had me worried tho. The new one came from a scrappie, and was seemingly in good nick. Previous owner had coated it with something resembling Bedliner, and I lashed a nice, thick layer of Fluid Film on the inside of it. Problems started when the to R/H side bolts were to be mounted. Someone, either the guys at the scrappie or previous owner, had warped it
Lowered the car down from the two-poster, and had to use a jack to get the cursed bolts to enter.
Next job in line is to sort out the EPB before MOT this summer.
More rust than metal, that's what you get when some fool has used it for a jacking point....

Nice calipers!
This week I’ve fitted a set of refurbed wheels with new boots
Fixed the shark fin back on the glass roof with PU sealant, and cured the noise when the A/C was running by replacing the aux belt idler and tensioner
I wish that was the end of the list!

Tidied up it's sleeping area - painted the fence, lifted the nasty block paving and put down some 20mm basalt chippings. Bought 2 tonnes of the stuff thinking it would be enough, but of course it wasn't. Ordered 3 more tonnes today to top this up to the right thickness and to put some down on the other side of the drive (behind the camera) to match.
