12.1V is far to low for a battery especially if it’s been on charge over night. With the engine running at this time of year I would expect 14.5-15V to be shown. Does the charger go through all stages ok when charging? Sounds like a duff battery to me without looking at it.

Thanks Pete,
It was a new premium exide from Tayna, and a new denso alternator, so I was expecting higher figures than before. I wonder if the readings the IID is receiving are correct, or if the ctek isn't powerful enough, but it did go through all the stages overnight. The ctek wouldn't explain the alternator not hitting over 14v though.
It's in for an MOT the next week or so, so I'll ask him to have a look and see.
New Duratracs fitted this afternoon, an expensive week so far!
Thanks again,
Matt

MOT failed today Off side lower arm rear bush, and the front to rear brake pipes.
Have arms already to fit (had been waiting for warm weather), and see there is a replacement pipe from Landrover for the brakes LR056967 and LR056968. How long would it take an indie to fix the pipes?
Cheers,
Matt

Had a look under the car at the suspension compressor. Found its AMK not Hitachi as I expected for the year (06) and its working fine so not the root cause of suspension fault bong. Time to borrow my mates Diag kit Dave

Put in and started using a Garmin 55 Dash Cam this week. Quite impressive so far with the 'car in front moving' feature, free for life speed camera database, lane drifting warning etc., Looked at the Nextbase series but opted for the Garmin due to its compact size.

Took mine in for its 144,000 mile service at G & G Autos in Ware.
They did a great job even if Landrover supplied a bent gearbox tray and I had a to wait an extra day for LR to send a replacement.
Gear box oil and filters changed - gear box oil is expensive but then what on a Disco isn't Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Ordered its third set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. Planning to get them installed next weekend. Goes in during the week for a new charcoal canister and to get a leaky axle seal replaced. Already had to get the radiator and cracked tstat housing replaced this month. 17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

A long day yesterday attempting the front suspension.
Started off by looking at how the upper arms are possible and couldn't figure it out so just went with lowers and track rods plus drop links.
The lower wishbones came out nice and easy, previous arms were put in with copper slip, just hammered out! One hub nut was difficult to get off. And the clearance for the back wishbone bolt passenger side due to the exhaust system was very tight, bad planning on Land Rovers part!
The tie rods were fully seized, not sure how anyone managed to adjust the nuts before but they weren't budging! Had new tie rods ready from three years ago but on trying to fit the spindle the screw section was wider. Will have to source new ones that fit.
And the passenger drop link top nut is seized in the thread, no amount of wd40 was budging it. Need bigger spanners and the heat gun on it when I have time.
Ran out of time for arb bushes so that's a job for another day.
A learning experience today, ache lots and a fair few cuts. Will get it tracked later this week along with front to rear brake pipes sorted for MOT (not attempting that one!)
