United Kingdom 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 XS Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3

Last saturday screeching started;
Sunday epb locked on, released manually and then got a 'failed' error message.
Monday to Marshalls Cambridge, diagnosed failed epb module, to be replaced tomorrow under warranty. Yay!
Good service from the dealer, I hope it doesn't go wrong out of warranty.
08my xs, and from this thread I learned that you can push the epb switch down to release, I always use the autorelease!

Mine starting screeching soon after the recent Tong event and its getting worse. Seems to happen mainly when parked on a slope and it also seems to lock on until I put my foot on brake and try switch about five/ten times!

Also notice nearside wheel getting hot on long trips so either park brake or disc callipers are binding - Censored ...

Any quick fixes to try??????

Forgive my astonishing mechanical ignorance but how do you get at the park brake shoes for cleaning?

I sell not fix Whistle

Can they be cleaned without removing the discs using a jet washer or similar?

No.... You ca adjust them without taking the disks off, but them you won't know the state of the epb shoes.....

When on it holds the car "Fast" so I doubt it is the EPB that is binding and causing the excess heat.

My Handbook says that the EPB fuse number is "41 - Electric Park Brake" 5amps ...

Why does this thread say number 8 listed in my handbook as "Trailer Pick up" 30amp.???
