Disco 5 building starts May/june!!

Well away in Mexico at the moment and have met a chap who is involved heavily in building the D5 and it's bloody stunning!

The build date he has given us is the same as i got 6 months ago. Building should start in mid May to early June of 2016.

Preproduction cars in camo have been about for a while but will become more obvious in the next months or two Thumbs Up

Personally, I'm expecting the D5 to look like a taller RR-Sport,

My thinking is

D Sport == less raked profile RR Evoke with wider C pillars

D 5 == less raked profile RR Sport with wider C pillars

Disco does seem somewhat dated now when compared side-by side. (gotta love it though Thumbs Up )

You might no see it but lets think, they could be/are testing running gear for it under the shell of ️an old camo car.... Maybe the RR/RRS pre production or something Whistle

Like said about it's been about a long time!! Going back to last October at the earliest Thumbs Up

I just don't believe in "dated" as far as design goes; there's simply good design and poor design. The D4 is a good design. I won't pass comment on the newer stuff Rolling Eyes

Okay, I'll comment just a little bit - good design usually involves having a good view out of the car, especially for those condemned to sit in the back!

I think a better way of putting it would be "room for improvement". It's a good design but things could be changed To make it ️an "excellent design" Thumbs Up

yes, "dated" is a very subjective term ... how about" not in keeping with the new JLR brand design language" or other such cobblers Laughing

I think the D3/4 design is better described as classic or iconic. I am very much still a fan

I do quite like the new style, the RR sport looks great to me and would not be too upset if the d5 were similar but - and I 100% take your point - practicality needs to e a driving factor or the whole point of the Disco becomes lost (IMHO)

Personally I think the cheap plastic at the back of the current models is horrid.
