Censored sorry to hear that JR.

I suppose I'll be finding out next Monday when I get to drive up the Bavarian Alps.
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

I had it once about 2 weeks ago, and not again. Car is booked in for a service on monday and have told them to have a look at it.
It was quite scary since it happened in quite a desolute place (Bezuidenhouts pass).

Mine goes in Monday to see if they can sort it. Engine fault light came on today and has stayed on even after switching off for 2 hours. Turbo lag is massive, flat as a pancake between gears BUT, hook a trailer on with about 1 tonne on and it performs better Confused Confused Confused [/b]

yours is doing the same as mine, and it seems to be getting worse, it seems to be worse when unladen but even with 3,5 ton on the back it still sluggish, i cant keep up with our other 3 07 plate disco commercials. It will be due its 60k service soon so ive put the fix off till then as i just cant afford to have a towing vehicle off the road.

Hope they find a fix for yours and all the others soon as its really racking me off now Evil or Very Mad

Dealers have replaced EGR valve and say that was the problem. OK at the moment but we'll see how it goes.

Also detected the rear diff is knackered........ 2yrs old @ 48000mls is that common???

Happy days! Last weeks visit to the dealer found both EGRs not seating properly. They were both replaced plus both EGR coolers which were leaking. I am now able to tow my trailer without any Engine System faults occuring! I also seem to have slightly more power and a few more mpg as well, which will make up for the 4 visits to the dealer to find a fix Whistle

Mike - good news Thumbs Up

As for me... Question Well, I still get an intermittent "Engine System Fault" message Big Cry Evil or Very Mad . It is a lot less frequent though. But no loss of power, special programs off etc Neutral So that seems to be resolved (touch wood).

Dealer downloaded my ECU data last Tuesday and sent it to LR Benelux...popping round there tomorrow morning on the way to work to see if there is any news.

Down on power recently, plus a bit more smoke than usual Confused Confused

Into dealers today, Air flow meter sensor is faulty - Waiting for new one to come in

"Oh, by the way Sir..... We've notice your front diff is leaking a lot of oil, better book it in for 2 days"

That will be the rear and front diff replaced in 53,000miles on a 2+ year old vehicle. Thank god for a warranty!!

Sorry to drag this back into the light but any updates from the contributors? Seems the only thing that has actually worked is canning the HP fuel pump, or has anything else actually worked? Question Question

Mine was diagnosed on Friday as a faulty EGR valve - but all the symptoms are the same as many others on here - accelerating hard, worse when towing (As I found out on the first failure since last October!)

Why its taken them this long to find a fault I don't know - whether its the fact that I told them the fault code (P2290) or not - but I was asked by about 3 different people how I got the codes - and all said AA - I just said I read them myself Whistle

My friend has got exactly the same problem.
LR garage has changed: all fuel pumps, filters and fuel piping, engine ECU and part of engine loom, EGRs and all sensors around air (thankfully still under warranty).

All this - and he still gets the errors.... Evil or Very Mad

Looks like LR have no idea what's wrong .....

Since my last response have also had faulty EGR valves replaced which has made the biggest difference of everything they've tried. Performance seems to be better than it had been for a long while.

Warranty ran out on 31/3/11 so I extended it for 12 months. The first day of the new warranty the EPB failed and had to have a new brake switch/lever. When I renewed, the dealer asked for the reg no. When I told him he said oh yes, we have seen that vehicle quite a lot, probably a good idea to extend the cover sir!!! Laughing
