May be a silly question , but have you checked phono connections to make sure that both L & R are connected OK. I suspect a loose connection somewhere. Is it same problam on both screens??
Only other suggestion I can think of would be to make sure multi-plug on top right hand corner of screen is sound. You would need to take screen out of headrest for this...see my earlier post on how to do this.
Good Luck Ian Cheers Ian

If I am going to use a VEBA av2705 with these screens can it be fitted inside the center cubby hole ? Or is there a smaller thinner alternative DVD player ?
Someone did say they'd mounted the Veba unit using velcro on the side of the centre consule, anyone got any pictures of this.

SGH , if you have same problem on both screens then I can't see that it is worth taking screens out as unlikely to be multiplugs, given that each screen has its own phono input. Do all LED's light up on top of screens & did you get a good earth for surpressor?? Cheers Ian

I earthed surpressr to one of the gear selector bolts perhaps then this is not suitable ?

I asked out of curiosity in Adelaide what this system would have cost me from dealer - $A3500, or 2000pounds ..
Thanks Nick!!! I think the problem is with the headset.
If I touch the side of them or move head towards the side window and the sound cuts out. Kids cannot sit still for 2 seconds so I guess this is why they kept saying they're not working. Defender 300Tdi 110 HCP - Keswick Green

With the install does the sound hit the head unit and come out through the speakers if you want or does the sound only come out of the headphones?
Cheers

Craig,
You can do both with the kit.....just depends which of the leads you use that come with the kit & your DVD palyer
The kit provides phono inputs for each screen. If you use these the sound comes out throught the headphones.
As there is a set for each screen you can have different things playing on each.
There is a set of patch leads in the kit that allows you to have the same input for both screens.
If you can take the output from your DVD & plug it into the aux socket , it will then play through the car speakers
There are no speakers in the screens themselves.
Hope this helps
Ian Cheers Ian

SGH - the audio quality on my set is fantastic, and the volume is very loud (using iPod classic with genuine apple composite cable) you have to get out of the back seat for the IR signal to fade.
Sounds to me like the audio input level is very low.
If you have the same problem with both headrests, it would have to be something common, ie. either the connector box, or the audio inputs.
Have you checked the connections to the connector box, and the little green plug that fits into the audio socket?
Perhaps you have a cable squashed against a ground?
stoopid question - do you have the headphones the right way round?
hope this helps

Have started to fit the headrests over the weekend . Pulled centre console away . However my D3 does not have the rear cig lighter fitted .
The loom appears to have the plug in place, however when i put a mulitmeter across it there was no power coming through .
Anybody any ideas where i can pick up an alternative power source .
Cheers Ray .

That ciggy lighter normally only operates with ignition in accessory position.
If its not working, try check that there is a fuse installed.
Do you have the front ciggy lighter?
