I fitted these in the snow over xmas, and they really aren't that hard at all, although if you're a complete novice then it does require a couple of brave pills
I wanted to locate all the electrical stuff in the 'secret' cup holder at the bottom of the centre console, so the method below assumes that this is err, sacrificial
I also wasn't bothered about hiding all of the AV connection wires (from ipod etc) like some of the beautiful installs seen previously in this thread. The OEM look is good enough for me
Thread the wires through the back of the seats just as outlined by Wiggs on pg 7 of this thread (heed the point that the leather on the headrests clips in place the same way the seats do - this makes it a lot easier to understand when your squashed, upside down between the seats!)
Loosen the rear trim on the centre console. The link on pg 5 of this thread linking to this thread here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic8549.html was used. I couldn't get the trim actually off as I was too scared that if I pulled it too hard I would break it. Loosening it allows you to remove the cigar charger and AV connect unit quite easily though and to feed the wires through into the space left by the cup holder.
The infamous cup holder was removed with a deft kick with my left boot - it snaps the clips that hold it in place, but if you're locating the electronic boxes here, then there's no need to salvage it. Note the point raised earlier in the thread that the front of this cup holder unclips from the cup holder itself which in turn covers up the hole where the cup holder used to be.
All the cabling is really quite straight forward, it only clips into place one way!
The supplied replacement AV connection 'unit' (the thing you plug your AV cables into from your ipod etc) is a straight swop for the original. The existing cover plate for this (the existing plastic with the cigar/aux in holes) even has marks on the back of it that provide a template for the holes you will need to drill to allow the new composite connections to locate through. Again, all quite simple when you see it in front of you.
All the electronic boxes supplied were stuck to the chassis using velcro and the supplied sticky pads in the space left by the cup holder. As above, the front of the cup holder can be simple pushed back to cover everything up.
I use my ipod classic as my source for the films. I sourced the following bits from the bay to allow me to do it:
The cable on this last bit of kit is plenty long enough for you to control the ipod from the front seats.
Hope that helps
Ben

Just recieved the headsets from the Large One..... thanks Nick.
One question, in the pictures on page 1 showing the AV input panel is that the dedicated D£ version or a TFC special fitting of the FL2 one supplied in the kit.
Next big question, is how do you fit the handles, is there a captive nut inside the headrest ???
Where do they get the power from ???
Last question is, do I have the balls to try and fit them myself....... mmmmmGot our Disco... Love it.....

1. Pic on pg 1 looks like a drilled D3 panel as it doesn't have any labels around the six composite connectors - could be wrong though?
My memory is hazy. Does the kit come with the FL2 cover 'panel' fitted to the black box with six female composite connectors? If it does, then you have to unscrew this cover panel from the supplied black box and replace it with the cover panel that is currently fitted to your D3 which you remove during the installation. The exisitng D3 panel won't have the six holes to allow the composite sockets to fit through, so you have to drill them. This sounds scary, however the location of these holes are marked on the rear of the existing panel, so it's actually very easy - just tape it up before you drill it.
2. No, you cut off the plastic bits on the top of the handles that fit into the headrest. Alternatively you cut holes in your headreast a la the link in my post above. It cut the handles not the headrest!!!
3. The power comes from the power to the existing cigar socket. It is simply a plug that clips to the rear of the cigar socket. There is a splitter supplied with the kit that splits this power supply allowing the power to continue to the cigar socket but also to power the new system.
Jaysus, just looked at hids4u gallery - I can see why you're scared, I would be too!!! I did the install without removing any of the centre consol (file 8!!!)
Have a look at his file 1. This is the (black) rear panel and the 'alpaca' trim to the sides. If you remove the centre arm rest lid (the thing you open to access your phone/fridge/cubby hole etc) as is shown in this picture (see link in my post above for instructions) then you can pull/unclip the 'alpaca' trim away from the 'black' rear panel which loosens the 'black' rear panel, allowing you to easily remove the ciger socket panel. I did not remove the 'black' rear panel completely as I was worried I would snap it, but you can loosen it enough.
The supplied 6 composite socket black box is a straight swap (subject to drilling as per above) and all the power/ cables etc simply drop behind it into the 'secret' cup holder at the bottom of the consol. If you have removed this cup holder either through a deft kick or the more subtle use of palet knives, then you can simply connect all the other supplied 'black boxes' to the cables that you have just dropped down (don't forget the cables you've run from the screens through the seats as well!!!). Once it's all connected up, use sticky velcro/pads to stick the boxes to the chassis/underside of centre consol. Cover with the coverplate you've salvaged from the cupholder (see above post).
Straighten up the 'black' rear panel etc, push/clip the 'alpaca' side trims back into place, re-attach the centre consol lid and bish bash bosh, job's a good 'un

Ooops, sorry I didn't see your 2nd post about using Iain. My apologies I wasn't looking to stop businees going his way
I am having problems with the sound on the headphones supplied in the kit. Sound is poor and only from one ear piece. Also tried different headphones plugged directly into the monitors no sound at all?

Yes, iPOD worked fine for me - plugged directly into RCA's with splitters (both screens); I used the style of iPod connector that connects to the bottom of the iPod at one end with the 3 x RCA's at the other (not the style that goes from the head phone jack - I have both styles of cord and only the one that has the connector at the bottom of the iPod worked)
One set of headphones (i bought 3) is a dud though (no power).MY2010 D4 HSE 3.0, e-diff, 19inch MTR's; LLAMS Height adjustor, LR f & r light guards, LR side steps, LR bright finish side door mouldings; LR/Mantec G4 front bash plate, LR G4 Winch kit, Warn 9500lb Winch; GOE compressor guard, Uniden UHF, LR bright finish roof rails, LR G4 driving light kit, LR G4 ladder, 4 x extra rear compartment 12V sockets, Traxide dual battery system and Optima Yellowtop battery, ORS drawer system / fridge slide, LED rear compartment lighting.

I have same problem with headphones -Improved by making sure that spring battery connectors make good contact (i.e. bend them!) but still have one better than other. Ipod connection on mine is not as good as dvd - seems to induce minor interference on screen and headphone buzzing. I suspect contact issues but am using genuine apple leads. Kids now use phones stright from ipod phone socket
I think that the plug next to the screen is for a aux input not phone output

Yes it is aux in.
Put fresh batteries in and headphones work now but still only from one earpiece. Sound is ok on very low volume other wise a lot of hiss.
I think each headphone has it own IR feed from the screen. Have you trried swapping the channel from A to B on the screen & headphones to see if that helps. Mine were clearer on one than the other, but can't remember which way round Cheers Ian
