We all recognise the frustration!

Kinda had one of those days myself as something let go in a major way and headed for my right eye with massive force. Thankfully all I need is a new pair of safety glasses!

Now that I have calmed down, lit the BBQ and drinking Duval I am looking at the safety glasses like a wining lottery ticket.

its ALIVE,

bro in law has worked his magic.

Initially he popped round to see what tools etc with a plan to do it tomorrow.

Martin had already undone the old alternator and it was just lying in the recess.

Bro in law worked it out via the undertray Gap (had removed undertray earlier to retrieve bolts n stuff)

So he took the same route with the new one, 30mins later belt back on and air ducts re connected.

Fired first time so I guess the battery is ok, going for a run tomorrow but its pumping out 14.8 at the fag socket doofer.

Huge respect to my chap, his mum has just been given 3 weeks to live, that's why I didn't want to hassle him about is.

Massive thanks to Martin for all his help with this one, I could see him getting ever more fed up with it!

Also a big thanks to Geoff, bp and all you lot for the support.

What a great forum and a really top set of helpful chaps!

Time for a cold one!

Cheers.

Please excuse bumping an old thread.
So, Is it the case that I don't have to remove the fan thingy to replace my alternator or is it simply that your bro in law practices magic known only to him please? Very Happy

Reminds me of this episode of Father Ted:

I suspect it was the very handy viscous fan spanners that come in your alternator kits! Thumbs Up
