What size bolt is it stew? That idea may still work if it's 8mm on the thread try a 6mm and a wee dab on the end ( personally I think it will be too tight and have to be drilled, but looking at the possible outcome of engine out I would be willing to try almost owt rather than do that.

Yes it is, i would put some wd40 or similar in for a couple of days first to soak in. Try to get in with a centre pop first ( in the centre) to line up the drill. Good luck.

That could be a good thing to help you drill it.

I suggest a combination of Flacks idea of a small 90 degree drill (if you haven't got access to a air powered 'windy' then I think dremmel do a 90 degree attachment) and make a bush to fit over the drill bit, and into the hole, which will support and centre the drill. You have more chance of getting a hole with a bush to hold it.

This all depends how much room there actually is, my guess is that if a drill will fit, then a stud extractor will too.

Left hand drill bits are the way forward!! I swear by them! Very Happy

I've also got an extractor set that comes with guides for drilling the centre of a broken bolt down a hole like you've got!!

Stew, I'm the same. I always try to do the work myself. But sometimes I've got so much work coming in and deadlines to meet, I've just gotta pay someone else to do it Sad Thumbs Up

Would it not be easier for a garage to lift the body?
