OK, I have just done all 6 in just over an hour, very simple job, once you know what you are looking for. You will need a stanley knife, a phillips screwdriver and a torx key to remove the bonnet release handle.
All of the plugs are very small black plugs which are wrapped in grey foam and taped to the loom, I couldn't find the first one in the passenger footwell for ages, until I tried a door and then relised what I was looking for!
The footwell ones, I found it easiest to undo the plastic phillips screws to let the panel come down from under the steering wheel/glove box and remove the plastic side panel, you need to pull the door seal away for this and then it just pulls off (remember the bonnet release). The plugs were on the side at the top and nearest the seats, if you get what I mean.
The doors, I took the panel off the first one, but after that it is very easy to just remove the screws on the plastic bin at the bottom then prise the door panel off going about halfway up the door, you can then get your hand in and pull the plug down. It is relatively simple to lie on your back and cut the hole, don't go all the way to the edge of the depression come inside it maybe 3-4mm or so and then start trimming to fit the end lugs in, remember you can always take more off!Joined the BMWX5 45e group

So even the "S" model has all the connectors in place, Dave? I searched for the footwell on the drivers side, but could not find any. But I did not take the side panel off. Which may be the reason ...D3 LE James Cook, 2,7 TDV6 auto

I took the philips screws out of the lower part of the door but nothing moved Do I have to get something in behind it and give it a pull out, someone mentioned staples but could mean fixing clips.

You should be able to see a slight depression on the bottom of each door, with my eye sight I needed to use a torch, even in daylight to see it, in the lower edge, the wires are a few inches above the depressions taped to other wiresJoined the BMWX5 45e group

I know where the lights go as I have done my footwells and seen the marked area under the doors, it was the clips I was on about in the door panels I would like to get as near as I can to them when pinging them out
