My test was a little drag race from a roundabout to a 30mph limit sign, probably 800 yards. Before cleaning it was just getting to 60mph when had to brake for the 30 zone. Then cleaned the sensor & did same test immediately afterwards it was through 60 in 1/4 of the distance and had I kept my foot down would have been shifting considerably faster than I should have been on a normal road. Whistle

Also found foot position much higher, meaning less throttle for a given speed cf precleaned. It felt totally different. Even sent SWMBO out and she noticed he difference without telling her what I'd done or experienced and she noticed a change. Thumbs Up

Will get my head around another poll. Thumbs Up

Hi,
one month ago I cleaned it only externally. In my opinion, it wasn't very dirty, but I tried...
I felt no difference...

Last Friday I cleaned it again, this time using "Contact Cleaner" to clean the inside...
On Saturday we drove to S'Agaró, a lovely beach in which we are giving the final touch to a house to rent.
The average consumption was 7.8l/100km (about 36.2 Imp. MPG) INCREDIBLE Very Happy Very Happy !
My best consumption till then it was 9.3 (about 30.37 Imp. MPG).

On the return back to home, (with some km to the near villages (Tossa de Mar, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Platja d'Aro, Palamós...)), the final average consumption was 9.2l/100km (about 30.7 Imp. MPG), much better than my usual 10.3l/100 (27.42 Imp. MPG).
It looks good!!!

Cheers,
David

Hi,
it's very similar to the contact cleaner I used. So, the results should be the same...
I didn't introduce anything into the sensor, in order to not to damage it; only the spray.

I hope it won't be dangerous for the sensor Whistle ... If it's prepared to resist motor oil, I think it should resist the C. cleaner, too...

David.

A word of caution if you use the 10K boost, it should not be sprayed anywhere near the MAF. I decided not to use the stuff in the end, as I did not know what else it might coat.

While my MAP sensor was gunky there was still a hole in the centre (44k miles with EGR valves not blanked).
