Hi and welcome.
It is not intended for use in the LR range and was designed for in the Jaguar S type cars with the same engine. It will be of no benefit to you and may even have a negative effect on your performance as it was designed to operate with different PCM and mapping.
Personally I just remove them as it's one less item to become crud infested, and and perhaps allows for better intake air flow.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Took my MAP senor out yesterday and gave it a clean - I dont have a photo but it was very dirty.
Difference in drive is night and day - there has been a flat spot on gearchange that has been bothering me which has been completely resolved with the MAP Clean. Throttle response increased dramatically and also has resolved the delay from standing starts where they typically has been a hesitation!
Very happy!

Can anybody please advise how to check if MAP sensor is still in working condition? I do have multimeter. I took it out, it was twice the size due to black tar
Is LR019130 correct part number for D3 with 2.7d ? LR website says its not:
Genuine OEM LR019130 - Land Rover Sensor (LR019130) part for Discovery 4 2010 - 2016, Range Rover Sport 2010 - 2013, Range Rover 2013 >, Range Rover Sport 2014 >, Discovery 5 2017 >, Range Rover Velar 2017 >. Authentic Land Rover Part.
I have found two part numbers:
1316126 - old
LR019130 - new
LR updated design?

Can’t comment on the part number but can confirm when I changed my sensor on my 2009 D3 the new genuine sensor from Rimmers that had superseded the old one had the large aperture in it.Must stop buying shiny toys....

I first checked the MAP sensor on my D4 (running EGRs) at 40,000 and it was clean. Just rechecked now it’s passed 95,000 miles and it’s still clean. Unusual?

Not unusual, perfectly normal. That`s because your engine is in very good working condition, well looked after and everything works in it as its supposed. Blocked EGR/manifolds usually happen due to faults.
But as mentioned in other thread - it can happen due to reason car is being used for very short trips/city driving only.

Just checked and cleaned my MAP sensor for the first time (only had the car a month 😂). 138k miles and looked pretty good to me.
Used airflow sensor cleaning spray and some kitchen roll.

check map sensor and not as bad as some. trying to cure fault when kick down happens in auto... codes show turbo actuator,,,, egr fault,,, boost pressure /map sensor.
car has previously had egr valves blocked, turbo act checked and moving freely when cycling ign on and off /lubed and worked as suggested... is the butterfly valve the main 1 just in front of the egr inlets as this is still present and views on removal appreciated.

Just changed mine for a new one, the old one was really Coked up. After changing I noticed a difference in power delivery was much smoother, mpg decent regardless.

Re: MAP causing trottle reaction?
Glenn , did you ever resolve this issue. I have the same

Hello,
situation:
-A few weeks ago i had an "Engine System Fault" (with no power loss or malfunctions whilst driving)
-Cleaned out the butterfly housing
-Cleaned out MAP sensor with brake cleaner and some indirect low air pressure above the sensor, not
direct in sensor
-Fault disappeard
-since a few days now:
-Once in a while pushing the TROTTLE does not respond to the engine in 1ste/2nd gear whilst
accelerating from stop position...
-after some while problem is gone
it's NOT the feeling as if the turbo does not perform, rather like the trottle command is not beeing
confirmed and no extra fuel is injected...
-Rpm's stay very low and no power is generated
-had this with cold + warm engine
ENGINE = MY 2007 TDV6 D3 - 2,7L
Could this be a malfunctioning MAP sensor or maybe still gunk inside the sensor causing this?
Hope to hear some reaction, PM welcome!

Great thread, took my MAP sensor out for the first time in her 235k mile life. EGRs were blanked around 100k. It was covered in oily / sooty muck, though the aperture was still visible if slightly blocked.
Had been experiencing worse than expected MPG on long runs at 70mph (27mpg ish), also quite poor power delivery when trying to accelerate with a really noticeable lag, could only get decent acceleration when the gearbox kicked down into lower gear. Thought this was normal for the D3, but the difference now is night and day.
Just gave the sensor a good wipe with shop towel, didn't poke or spray anything into the hole...
Power delivery is now much more progressive (no more feeling of a massive flat spot) and throttle response has improved significantly - it actually does something when I apply 5-50% throttle, instead of doing very little and then kicking down with big boost when I get to 55% throttle... much better hill climbing too.
MPG on an almost identical run is up to 33mpg.
Very pleased, hope it lasts and there are no unintended consequences!

Did you get any faults come up during poor throttle response? Mine goes into HDC fault modeWe are here for a good time, not a long time.

Sorry for late reply...
No error messages at all, just felt very sluggish.
