I've tried all sorts. Turning off the major roads and only leaving on the restricted roads. I've even tried turning them all off, but it still takes a dislike to rural B and unclassified roads for some reason.

Intermittently! it does that lol. rest of time its fine.... except if you take a few wrong turns then screen goes corrupt lol
when it does go wrong it tells me Im driving offroad when Im not. its like something isnt zero'd correctly somewhere.
but when it works its taken me some interesting routes. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver

Enter diagnostic code 134769.
Go to Navigation Info and reset the vehicle position.
Return
Go to Vehicle Sensors, note the Gyro reading bottom of screen (and report back) and then hit the Reset key.
Close Diagnostics by cycling the ignition. Then see if that is any better.
You can also try this on the move, checking the GPS info screen to ensure you are getting a full read on the satellites, and equally check the Vehicle Sensor screen to make sure that the Gyro is operating, and that the speed sensor is corresponding to the speedo.

thanks will give that a try.
sounds like the procedure the LR guy went through when at dealers. thy descibed some sort of diagnostic screen theyd never seen before and that he had recalibrated it. it has however continued to happen. but I will take reading at normal and again then the problem is happening. DD suggestion - if you have another GPS unit, does the lat & long position on that correspond with that on the off road nav set up. You could get your Lat & long from multmap or others. Alternatively, the co-ords for your stealer are listed on www.landrover.co.uk, check that they are the same when you get there.

thanks dsl,
my fault isnt the nav position so much as there is some other part to the nav that must track the movement of the vehicle, this must be telling the system Im moving when Im not because as its used the vehicle system thinks its moving left in circles even when stationary, then in use it keeps jumping back to the correct position every 10 seconds or so. of course the system trys to recalculate and can get in a right mess if you try and use it when it thinks your driving through a golf course or lake or whatever is off to the left of the road your on 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver
