Interesting, Ive been taught to think inside the box here at the dealer, which is why I found out this mod through here. I wonder what techline would say about this one...So I guess this faultmate that Ive been reading about has more access than our tools . Why am I not surprised...SDD really is a pain to use but I haven't tried to see what was possible yet. Anyway, if I am able to program it, do I need anything else besides what I mentioned to retrofit this bluetooth kit. According to the diagram, the phone switch connects to the HU through the clockspring, the module is connected through most and needs to be activated so the instrument cluster and HU displays call info but where does the mic connect to if a connecter is not located up by my map light? The D3 diagram says it connects to the pti module but that's not being used and the d4 module is only pwr, gnd, and most. I really dont want to install a parrot unit but it just might be the easiest way to add what I want since I'll still have to piece together an Ipod kit after I get this bluetooth situated. I really want to keep it as factory looking and operating as possible. Any help would be appreciated...

The mic wires are located to the left of the lamp assyembly you have to reach in a good way to find it, it is stuck to the loom and has a sponge cover on it, reach in and you will find the connector.
But on some models that I have fitted this mod on the mic wires don't work so you have to run a new pair of wires from the mic to the small red & black plug in the IHU, the mic wires ( black & Red )are the top two wires in the right hand side of the plug as you are looking from the front of the IHU, there will be another black wire this is the shielding.

Everything you said you have is correct ... Don't bother with the voice button as the D4 module dosent hold any voice commands... I normally use the voice commands that are stored in the multimedia module ... But as you don't have nav ... Then you can't use them
You would need to enable the mic , Bluetooth module ... And make sure the supplier mode is switched to Land Rover ( not denso )
Keep up informed how you get on with the ids ... As it would be interesting to see if you can find your way in without an engineering code G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The wife has the truck all week. Hopefully I'll be able to work on it this weekend. I was fortunate enough to work on a similar D3 today and confirmed the location of the mic connector. IDS has been removed from all our toughbooks, but I still have access to a dedicated IDS unit that I use in case of emergency. So far I haven't had any problems configuring vehicles with the new SDD program but this faultmate unit has me fascinated. I saw a glimpse of what it can do and it basically just makes everything easier. Will definately keep you guys posted on my progress. Thanks again for your help and for sharing a cool mod!

All working fine apart from having duplicate entries showing up on the screen under contacts. If I delete my Sim contacts the module picks up my contact from the "contacts" folder and displays only a single entry but followed by "/O" .
If I delete my "contacts" folder the module picks up my sim contacts and displays a single entry which is not followed by "/O" which is great, unfortunatly that is no good as I can't phone anyone as my "contact" folder is now empty and I cant find a way to get my Nokia E51 to display my Sim contacts under "contacts".
Only thing I am waiting on is to get the clock in dash update. Mick had trouble with his PC and was not able to get the update done. What about you ?
