Right if you mean an exchange unit as in this post http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic53544.html
Cost is £60 for the exchange ... But you would have to cover the cost of postage both ways as this service is really for the UK G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Factory D4 Bluetooth and Voice recognition installed and activated.
A very big thank you to Wiggs for Faultmate advice and MOST cable and to TLO for the quick parts supply.
This board is superb source of info and help for a new LR owner.

Hi Wiggs,
I wondered if you can help me with Bluetooth phone query. I’m not very technically minded and find this and all the posts very confusing.
I have just brought a 2005 Discovery 3 HSE
As far as I can tell it does not have Bluetooth, it has phone buttons on the steering wheel and what I believe to be a nokia cradle in the centre console.
I was reading about retro fitting the D4 unit, can I do this in my vehicle?
If so what parts do I need and where can I get them from?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Stuart

Hi Wiggs
Your correct I do have blutooth, I can pair my Iphone but not blackberry!
I also dont get my phonebook transfered!
I'm down near Reading to guess a little far for you?
If I understand what I read in this thread, both your updated D3 moudules or a D4 module will be able to show me my phone book?
It also sounds as the D4 is slightly better, with multi numbers per contact and better quality.
if thats correct do you have a D4 module I can purchase / Exchange etc.
Cheers,
Stuart

Your reading is correct ...
You would need to get a d4 module from our site sponsers Yeovil LR
Or my exchange service here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic53544.html
( these are only aplicable if you pair with 2121 )
The D4 one is not a direct swap , but very very easy G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Just upgraded from a D3 module, to the D4 and SUCCESS! My blackberry now pairs perfectly, and i get all the other bonuses of the D4 module:
Service provider on screen
Signal strength
Phone book with mobile or home listed
Plus it actually works!
Thanks to wiggs for the advice on here, and Nick at Yeovil LR for supplying the part. Would definately recomend the upgrade for anyone who either has problems pairing a blackberry, or needs to distinguish between home and mobile numbers under the same contact.
Was an easy swap - i copied wiggs and used a fan conector out of an old pc for the power.

Wiggs,
I am in San Diego California (USA). I have a 2008 LR3 with nav/bluetooth/voice control. I have an Iphone4. Vocie control keeps telling me the phonebook is empty, but I can bring up my contacts on the small radio screen.
1. Can you tell me where I can get a D4 bt module?
2. How much is it?
3. Will it allow me to fully utilize my voice options with the iphone?
4. Does it have the a2dp profile for streaming music?
5. Will it show the phone book on my big/nav screen or do I need the RR software?
6. If yes to 5. where/how can I get the software updated?
My goal is to be able to use only the nav screen or steering wheel controls. Get as close to hands free as possible.
Thanks for your consideration.

You need to save a voice name and number before it can recognise one .
Either say "phone store name " or go in settings / voice settings / add voice name
1. Forum sponsors " Yeovil LR "
2. Approx £170
3.the voice options have nothing to do with the Bluetooth module .. If you can use voice for radio / nav etc then they are stored somewhere else
4. No
5. No ... Only on a range rover
6. You need to remove an internal wire on the touch screen ... The software is already installed . There are issues with the dimmer not working though G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

You need to take the touch screen apart and remove a wire .. This fools it into thinking its a range rover .
Unfortunatly some things aren't compatable... The screen dimmer for one ... It dosent use the one on the car any more so the screen is quite dim ( you can get one to connected into the screen though )
Cd player ... Plays CDs ... But you can't select different disks from head unit ( as the range rover had a separate cd player )
Some of the lap timers don't work ... Can't remember what else off hand G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
