£425 + shipping is a lot of money, I only paid about £120 all in as far as I can remember plus my time of course.
I didnt take any photos of the insert but I've not bonded it yet so if I get a chance I'll take it off on Sunday and post a couple. 2016 RR Sport Autobiography

Many thanks.
I'm now struggling a little with one particular cut on the donor grille, and following invaluable help from mickdundee and from looking at other photo's there appears to be conflicting ways to cut it.
I'm okay with the cut along the top of the donor grille but it's the uprights I'm struggling with, insofar as exactly which line to follow.D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

Will, not sure if i'm following you properly, but this might answer your question as you can sort of see where the D3 veins were cut back to.

Thanks Alan.
I have seen that before but another different, but yours [and mickdundee's; thanks Mick, great gallery] is the way to go.

You're right, mine is circa the same cost to date although I'm not factoring in the Dremel 8200 which I've been meaning to buy anyway.
I guess when I'm on my eighth donor grille attempt I might think £425.00 was a bargain D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

Would anyone be kind enough to give me the optimum slot sizes for the bottom of the donor grille?
I've done everything I need to to the donor grille, except the slots.
I don't want the positions/spacings, only the optimal depth from inner edge of the grille and width of slot.
I also know they need to taper to a point; I'll take care of this.
I also note this is at my own risk and anyone kind enough to give me the dims I need does so at *my* own risk

hi Rob I did mine using Alan G`s original post & followed his instructions so they should be the same. My measurements from the inside of the d3 grille to outter edge where the inner grille reaches is about 40mm(see gallery) if that`s the dimension your talkin about. P.S. thanks to Alan G
