Nearly there! TDV6 HSE Buckingam Blue.
After ordering in early June my TDV6 HSE will be mine next Tuesday. It was put into quarantine in late August due to a batch of faulty gearbox oil seals, then held up due to the Transporter Company going into liquidation and now DVLA, who said they had not received the paperwork, have found it and are processing.Tax disc and cherished transfer should arrive Monday or Tuesday. It is very frustrating to see the car in the showroom all ready! This is Disco number 6 and it will be no problem if it follows the pattern of the others. Have I been lucky? Only found this site yesterday and already impressed.
Cheers,Bernie

Welcome Bernie, this is a very unusual site and many of us have become good friends. It is no longer a forum in the same way. Help is always available and banta frequent. Enjoy

Hello
Hi all, been lurking on this site for a little while now, full of good stuff! Made the mistake of getting a disco II some months ago and was hooked, also had an M3 but didn't use it from the day the land rover came. Anyway, I have now sold the M3 and pick up new disco 3 HSE on Tuesday, can't wait!Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE

Welcome Bernie, you'll be as impressed with your D3 as you are with the site
I've just ordered a TDI 'S' model in silver and added the SatNav. Should take delivery towards the end of November.
This will be a fair change to my recent cars, two scoobys an Evo 6 and 7. It was time for a change and I really fancied the D3 for a while now.
Looking forward to getting it offroad, as I firmly believe in using them for what they are designed for. My recent Jap cars all had a hard, but fair life on Britains trackday circuits.
Hopefully catch up with some of you once I've taken delivery and got along to my first playday.
Regards, John
Hi John, welcome to the site, you'll find the the D3 quite a change from your previous cars but just as much fun. It's good to see a few more of you joining from north of the border

Hello
Hello all
Although I googled for LR forums around a month ago and found some others I only found this one last week for some reason - can't remember the search I used though.
This forum is head and shoulders above the others and has confirmed my decision to go D3
Current vehicle 00 Merc 270Cdi Auto - not as bad as some say but time for it to make way for a D3.
Currently looking for 6 month old Bonatti/ alpacca HSE - over a 5 year cost of ownership the price differential between HSE and SE doesn't look that much and I like the leather !
Just missed one on the LR used vehicle web site.
Landrover dealers are falling over themselves today to sell me new ones to hit their Q3 numbers. Best deal so far is £4k off an 06 demonstrator with delivery miles only but they didn't have the right colour.
Rumours from other dealers of Q4 promotions.
I'd prefer someone else to pay for the initial depreciation but any thoughts as to whether to go for £39k for essentially a new 06 in a colour I don't really like, £35k for Jan 05 model in the colour I want, or wait a few more months for the 06 used models to start coming through ?

So does that mean the SE no longer has leather as standard? Wow, that's some hike.
Have you thought about a V8 instead? Dealers can't shift them at anything close to retail, so if you're not a high mileage driver and are planning to make it a keeper, it could be cheaper than dieselTime flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Poor explanation on my part. I should have said that I'm looking for HSE or SE rather than anything else because I want leather, or more accurately electric seats.
I looked at V8s a month or so ago (which seemed £2k - £3k cheaper used) and costing in a LPG conversion things worked out about the same as a diesel over 5 years but given the inconvenience of finding LPG, some uncertainty over long term tax treatment of LPG and longer term depreciation worries I shelved that idea.
I think I'll have a look again though for V8 bargains.
