Why are the main dealers so bloody miserable?
Disco due beginning of March. Disappointed to see that LR may have new owners, but the dealers are are customer unfriendly as ever. There's a better atmosphere at my dentist. There I was, spending £40,000 and I had to ask (twice) if I could have a cup of tea. And it was cold.
At my Porsche dealer, they'd give you a Swedish massage (with extras) if you popped in to buy a Cayenne. They even know your name

You see, the problem with dealers in the big smoke, is they dont have to try hard enough and as such come across as unfreindly and worse still uncaring. I know the 4x4 int he city as a Chelsea tractor, but buy one in the sticks somewhere, where people are generally nicer and more friendly to start off in the first place.
Simple point is when buying, especially a 4x4, go into the countryside, the more rural the better and when you then drop £40k, a sizeable amount!! they will fall over backwards to make you comfortable. My dealer in Wiltshire (near Swindon) is superb and looked after my every whim, I had countless cups of coffee, they even looked after my dog as I took the D3 for a test drive, and answered every question I had. Bear in mind I'm ex-LR used to in charge of crash analysis systems (I jumped ship during the BMW/Ford change), and they answered all of my questions in detail and honestly. I cant reccomend them highly enough and as far as dealing with Porche dealers they're too smug for their own good.

Say hallo
I wish to say hello to everybody who drive disco 3. In next 2-3 weeks my black S model will come. But, reading all posts about mainly electronic problems, I am asking myself: is my choice wrong? This has to be my first 4x4 car and please for comments. I have read BMW posts and found similar problems.
greetings from Croatia to everyone, Marcel

Thank you for wellcome
Thank you BN for wellcome. My java-black LR3 is transfering from Belgium these days and I am really impatient. I decide to by LR because this was a first -look - love. That was the reason I became little bit suspicious reading forum's posts. Anyway, I do not give up. Love is too big to be shaken.
Greetings from Croatia

Marcel, my LR3 is in Jarva Black and you will not be dissapointed. However you will need to have lots of water and effort to keep it clean. Enjoy.

Hi cmyers
Welcome to the site! Don't worry about the problems, I think I speak for everyone when I say that everyone's happy with their Disco 3's, the problems are more niggles with the vehicle than major issues, and varying LR support
What spec HSE have you gone for, what colour?

Hello Disco3 owners all
I got my TDV6 just before xmas, looks very smart in Cairns Blue, I think its awesome especially off-road, I had an 03 defender 110 CSW before this and thought I'd never change, how wrong I was.

welcome to disco3.co.uk - say hello here
Hello Disco3.co.uk!
Ordered an TDV6 SE a couple of months ago (zambesi/ebony, auto-g-box, 7seats, premium nav, tow-pack, hi ice, refrigibox, cargobox), due for mid June.
We just sold our sturdy, unbreakable, 14 years old Nissan 4x4 pick-up. The only problem with that were the two seats, since we recentely had a baby (maybe 7 seats now are a bit of overshooting...). Never spotted a D3 in Italy so far (except for a dealer demonstrative vehicle), althought D1 and D2 are fairly common down here.
This car is our first LR, but checking on various Discovery 3/LR3 forums, I'm starting to get e little nervous about the reliability of the thing, since some kind of fault seems to pop-up in almost every vehicle (I owned several Ford and the only problems were related to electrical stuff). Having never joined a car forum, I wonder if there is among the participants a sort of bias, i.e. an overwhelming proportion of owners who experienced some kind of problem .
Anyway, finger-crossed...
sorry for the syntax, geetings from Italy ,
Vito

Hello! Thanks to freeflytim for shooting me a link to this forum. I have been searching for a group of D3/LR3 enthusiasts for awhile... And it looks like I've found it. Questions to follow
