hi irf. i run a v8 and get around 18mpg, but the car came in £6000 less than the diesel equivalent. six grand buys a lot of miles and the performance gives a lot of smiles Laughing

It's silly isn't it. Your comments are very poiniant and yet we still baulk at buying a V8 in this country.

For instance if a car covers 15K in a year the diesel cost would be around £2300, but a petrol V8 would be around £3970 a difference of about £1600.

Maybe the smile is worth the £1600.

hi BN, too true, and as the wife only does about 7k per year i'm more than happy to take the fuel cost and lower residuals. Confused

You probably save the fuel with the purchase anyway and have a wife with a big smile. There is a bit of a downside though. Diesels don't bother too much with water but petrol do, so don't do too much wading.

They are probably either the aerial wires to the radio, or the sat nav wires.

Hi all

Hi all
Just discovered this forum having bought the D3 about a month ago - swapped my 110 Defender for a V8 HSE (8 month old ex-demo). Had some concerns about going for the V8 but given the MPG isn't that much worse than the TDV6, the limited mileage I do and the deal I got I thought what hell!
Cracking car so far - what a different experience to the defender!!
