Hi there !
There's a very long time since i'm lurking on the forum , long before ordering my D3.
My D3 arrived on the begginning of June, and i already drove it for 10000km (aprox 6300 miles).
So far, i've had no problem with it.
As my dealer gave me the keys, he told me to wait before the "Bong sound" before running the engine, otherwise, i would have alarms, and failure due to system bootup aborted. I followed his advice, and had no problem until now.
Sam
Welcome Sam131fr to the best Disco3 site. You know the way we are, so no shocks. Obviously your dealer is a good one and did the job properly on hand over. I think it is just unlucky if problems ocurr and that can be any car. I have had a few, but they will be sorted out. It is just a little frustrating.
Great to have you with us.

Hi Paula, when are you and allie coming to one of the mad fun days. You may even get the chance to meet the 10 family, heaven help you. Mrs 10's OK though and the 5's, its just the big one
BN,
Thank you for the invite. Its very kind of you. where do you usually meet up ? is it close to Wales or would i need to stay over ? be good to meet and talk. you seem to know so much about land rovers. If i have made a mistake with the nissan maybe you could explain to me.
I spoke to my dealer friend and he still has my black SE and as the nissan was not new he would exchange it back. Is it fair to be charged a fee for this ?
He told me he has fixed the computer ecu so its all working now to.
BN. should i change the car back ? it was nicer to drive than the nissan but it needs to be a good 4 wheel drive for me as i do a lot of travelling and need a large car.
your advice would be very helpful. by the way. who is who in the group photo ?
Are you the one 3rd from from the left in the white t shirt ?

BN,
Maybe another candidate for your Wales weekend ?
Paula,
I think you should take your dealer chap up on the offer to swap back the Murano... the DISCO3 is far superior to the Nissan !! by a long shot.
What is he charging you ?
Sounds to me like he got the better deal by you taking the DISCO3 back and getting the Nissan... he would probably get far more profit out of that than he would have out of your new ride.
By the way... how did he fix the ECU ? Is he a Land Rover dealer or does he gave the service kit to do this ? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

How much did he pay you to take the D3 off your hands?

Paula, it seems all very unusual to me. But, if I had a choice of a LR or Nissan, then there is only one choice, the D3.
Too many questions to ask you, but why on earth have you swapped and then joined the D3 group when you now have a Nissan But mine is not to reason why, just as usual say what I think, get the blooming D3 back.
Having said that, I cannot see anywhere in your posts that it actually was a D3 But then I can't see anyway.
As far as who's who the best way is to come along and join us, but not in a Nissan We are having a fun weekend in Wales 29/30th Oct. Get the LR back and join us, still one place left at the moment.

Hi Nick,
I have just seen your message, thanks for the welcome. I took delivery of my Disco 3 yesterday, It took me a couple hours to adjust to it -so different to the cars I have previously owned. My husband did drive it most of the day and left his in the garage. Love the electronics, watching the fuel information was cool. ( Remember guys buy your pertrol/diesel at supermarkets and boycott the big guys Shell n BP they will be the 1st to bring down prices if they are hit where it hurts).
We will be driving to our home in Central France tommorrow for 2 weeks, we are amazed at how much stuff we can load and take with us, looking forward to our first off road experiences whilst there. This will largely consist of having to quickly get off the narrow roads surrounding the village we live in, to allow for the wide tractor loads and huge lorries that come thundering along regardless, I reckon my Disco 3 will be a good match and square up well to these rather aggressive truck drivers.
I am looking forward to my Landrover off road day, to experience the different terrains, until then I will keep it fairly tame!!
Cheers
Allie
Martin have a great break away.
Allie, small point, supermarkets, get their fuel from the likes of Shell and BP etc. The difference is that Shell have special additives they put in the fuel to enhance (very slightly) better fuel economy and reduce wear on the engine. I personally would never use supermarket fuel, unless I have no choice.

Hello All followed a link off the landrover forum .....thats how i found you!
My main purpose for joining here is im thinking of purchasing a disco 3 after watching them at the malvern show lol.
I was going to get a freelander but might stretch out to one of these as i think it will be more practical with my 3 kids where space is concerened .
Just wanted to get some information on them before i make my final decision on what landy to get.
Wise choice, a D3.
For three kids, there's plenty of space, plus rear 12v point (and one in the back back) for their games/music players.
V comfortable and (with some exceptions) the driving is less prone to induce travel sickness, even in the way back.
I went for one over a volvo XC90 as the drive was better (v. scary trying to get the volvo across a busy road from a side junction) and the towing capacity was fine (double horse box).
Proper third row seats that can fit adults OK (unless they're v.tall or v.fat) - I managed an hour there no problem (6' & 12 stone). I almost had to visit the chiropractor after 15mins in the sis-in-law's Shogun.
I'd heartily recommend any but the base version, as these all have the third row seats. After all, if you don't want those, you might as well get a Range Rover sport.
If you go D3, comes down to how much you're prepared to pay and what toys you want.
I found that the 'S' offered the best spec for me; although I wanted the leather of the 'SE', I wasn't prepared to pay the huge uplift that incorporated sat nav. After all, a tom tom to swap between cars is only a few hundred quid as opposed to what appears to be a £2K premium.
Similar argument against the HSE - way too many gizmos for my needs.
The car press have been very complimentary and realistic about the car. The downsides are weight is high and fuel economy is OK (as long as you don't buy the V8 ).
I spent my own money on the car, so I wasn't planning on being flip with my choice as I would a company car.
regards,

lol i also like leather interior but might have to have cloth ....im looking at getting one of the first 04's....not bothered about too many gadgets as i suffer techno fear lol.
Just depends what i can find ....I might even wait off until christmas time when car sales are low and they want any custom ......might get what i want for my money then lol.....Fuel consumption i was interested in?
Most peeps ive heard from so far say it does 27-30mpg.
Im just going to use it for general school runs and holidays....school run has bumpy lanes which my old astra hated ...well the exhaust lol!

Pinky, I would go for the SE, I started to look at the S but for me the SE had more for the money, with more comfortable electric seats, sat nav which I was not fussed with, but now would not be with out!
I have the auto because I'm lazy & love it, but 23mpg is what I normally see.
Kids & wife all love the car, very comfortable, heaps of room, just eats up long journeys!
I love it D5 HSE Waitona Grey 2015
