Hello
Evening - and a quick hello
Have recently bought a 2010 D4 HSE with £90K miles.
Few problems so far but the dealer is sorting.
Look forward to learning a bit about my car.
Cheers

Hello
Hi all,
Just thought I'd say hi to everyone.
I've been lurking around trawling info since last year when I was 'doing the research' re buying a D4, being my first foray into ownership I scared myself silly reading about all the various issues these cars can have. But I thought 'well there's a lot of them around, they can't be that bad surely'.
I'd always owned more sporty stuff and had a RS3 at the time so it was going to be a big change, the roads / potholes sealed the deal, I'd had enough and bought a 2013 D4 HSE with the black pack. I liked the car a lot more than I expected I would, It's such a chilled out place (wife calls if a floating armchair ) to be and you don't get endless chav's trying to bait you into a race - happy days!
I've had it almost a year now and love it, I had one small issue with the amber 'restricted performance' light coming on and off, but a trip to a local indy soon sorted it - water in the diesel / filter, so I had them repeat it's big service just for peace of mind, all is well since, indeed it's been more reliable than my RS3, and a brand new BMW M135i before that, fingers crossed it stays that way
I've just opened the pandora's box that is fitting a heated steering wheel retrofit - and soon learned you need a combo of seemingly impossible to find bits lol, I fitted the clock spring, had a new heated wheel and switch pack, it did'nt work, and neither did the horn . I suspect mines a later ecu on the wheel (never realised they were different) or the switch pack was wrong, I dunno - I will keep learning till i get the right combo.
Anyways nice to meet you all and love the HUGE amount of info the site holds, it keeps me busy reading for hours

New to the forum - Hopefully a Disco3 owner very soon
Good morning ladies and gents
Shaun here, from Ireland Co. Armagh.
Looking at making the move to LR3 fairly soon from my 2016 Nissan Quashqai. My reason being, the missus decided she would have another baby Now the Nissan doesnt suit due to its poor boot space for a double pram and i cant fit 3 car seats in the back of it.
So, Im here for your guys help and advice in buying a decent motor.
I have been looking mosting on the mainland for a discovery as any here in Ireland have all been farmed.
going to give the dealer a call see has the belts or clutch been done.

Hi Shaun and welcome to this great site and the soon-to-be every day joy of owning a Discovery.
Might be worth checking the MOT history in this car and that the advisories have been sorted:

Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack

Recent D3 Purchase
Hi All
Been avidly reading articles on this site for a few months now, very helpful.
Not owned a Disco before and really enjoying getting to know the ins and outs of D3 ownership.
Some work already completed on the beast, with many more projects to go over the years ahead.
Thank you all for your help, ideas, guidance and support, I happily waste many hours reading posts on this site, loving every minute!

Afternoon,
Bought my Disco 3 two years ago having never owned anything like it before and right now, can not see a future with out a LR of some description on my driveway. Huge respect for its innovation despite the flaws and feel that its bad reputation is undeserved. Largely fomented by owners who expect to outlay the same cash for maintenance as a vehicle half its weight and with half its capabilities. Hats off to it.
Much more fun than jacking up a Ford Focus anyway.
Big thanks to all the contributors on here as well. Been a huge help over the last 2 years.

Back after 14 years....
As of this week I'll be back owning a Land Rover (Disco3) after 14 years without any LR product.
Quite excited tbh!
Have previously owned several Defenders, 3 Range Rovers and 2 Discos.

Hi Folks. Just joined today. I have a 13yr old Disco3, which now I have retired, I intend to service and repair myself. Well that's the plan. Hopefully, when I get stuck, maybe some of you could help.
Regards, Golfinggas
