Post editing such as this is extremely rare, and only used in exceptional situations. It has been carried out in this case because, in the current circumstances, I do not wish this site to be used to promote GNVP’s business in any way.
This is due to a number of unresolved issues involving GNVP and the site, particularly involving an owner of GNVP continuing to use the site to promote their products to site members, despite GNVP having withdrawn their site sponsorship. Furthermore that person was also under a site ban at the time for repeatedly breaking the site behaviour rules and terms of use, and circumvented this ban. For further information see my post at http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post600140.html#600140
Since GNVP have completely undermined the site rules, and the site administration team, I do not see why the site should be used for promotion of GNVP's products or services, whether intended or accidental. The poster of the edited comments has well known personal ties to the owners of GNVP and, as such, is well aware of the background to this matter.
I admit that a mistake was made in that the poster of the edited comments was not informed about the action taken and the reasons for doing so, and I am very sorry for any confusion so caused. The issue of editing has been discussed by the site administration team. In future any post that it is deemed necessary to edit will be clearly flagged as having been edited; further, the poster who’s comments have been edited will be contacted by PM. No open forum discussion will be entered into regarding the editing of posts.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Martin,
Thanks for the response. I am glad to see that any editing will be acknowledged going forward. My concern was over the editing and changing the context of what I had written without any notification i.e. making it look like I'd said something I hadn't.
I don't think I have made any secret of the issue that I am mates with Garry and Neil - I met them through this forum. However I felt my post was fair, I mentioned all manufacturers. If I had only mentioned GNVP then I could be accused of promoting them, but I deliberately ensured I mentioned all of them (Sorry if there are other out there that I don't know about!).
I have also ensured that since owning one of Ray's brackets that I have posted positively about it to show no bias.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Martin perhaps you could treat GNVP as a profanity and just bleep it throughout the site

Good point porn ...but remember there are around 15 - 20 joining every day ...so far evidence of 1 leaving
Stu, I apologise for telling you to 'shut your gob' in the public manner that I did ....... there are some straight talking mannerisms of Newport that you or anyone else just cannot take out of me I'm afraid
Overall, I think that it's time to draw a line under this now TBH ...Martin has made the position clear and while the non-communication was regrettable at the very least with the new measures something positive has come out of it 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

It was that thinking that got IBM in trouble. 1 leaving, but multiplied by some negative feeling and thekergans' experience, must surely be an indicator........Bodsys Brake Bible

I was thinking of leaving, but as a new fair and open system has been introduced I have decided to stay, well until the 1st April when I will be gone, so much to find out and mod, so little time

All this arriving, leaving stuff is complete nonsense. This is an internet forum; at the time of typing there are 9556 registered members, and any number of guests who have not registered. Of the 9556, many have probably registered used the forum for a while and moved on.....no song and dance.
Of course, a forum is only as good as the people who post and the information base that those posts provide. Trying to maintain the level of quality is often what people regard as over zealous moderation. You cannot have it both ways.

I am happy with the explanation given Lee, I just wanted to make it clear that it wasn't about GNVP. Just being edited.
DG thanks for your comments, I know I can get carried away and often get the red msit, although I felt I was fair last night.
I know you're a decent guy and I would have bought the wrong size socket for my hub nut last weekend had it not been for you!
I just want to ensure that the rubbish I type is really my rubbish and not being edited to make it more rubbish that it original was. D3 HSE MY05 Auto
