I think that's fair and understandable, but maybe a notice to say what is happening would prevent us from assuming it's been deleted because we can't see it and other threads popping up?

Is anyone claiming ownership of editing my post?

It gave DG time to think up "threads of mass disgruntlement"
which, personally speaking I found quite a funny line Thumbs Up

"threads of mass disgruntlement"

Maybe that's what's being dropped on AndrewS allotment?

May I suggest to the site owner that when site moderators edit posts they are required to give a reason for said action. Not only would this be common courtesy but it would also help to remind the other members of the sites rules.

With regard to the case in hand, I case see no reason the the text of "GNVP" was removed from Stu's post.

We all know that there were issues between GNVP and Martin , but that is history.

Would the person responsible care to let us all know why this happened?

Regards
Nick

As a mod on another site we have to leave a note at the foot of the p[ost to explain who,why and when the post was modded.
That way each mod is held accountable for their actions.

Not sure that it should be used by all forums though. Some forums don't need/require this. Up until the last couple of months this forum fell into that category. I could see no reason why it should start now. The forum has survived this long without it and this little blip will pass soon and we'll all carry on as per normal.
Let's not let this situation spoil what is a very good informative forum.

This is not targeted at anyone so don't take it that way.

There are only 2 people who know the full GNVP/Martin story. Let the pair of them sort it out and the rest of us give them time and space to do that, if nothing else it stops the divide that is being drawn up at the moment. We should all learn to agree to disagree.

I'll put the soap box away now, Sorry Embarassed

I think that if this forum was run in that way it would save a lot fuss.

I guess that is where we will have to agree to disagree

Agree it is an informative forum

IMHO this post is not about what happened between GNVP&Martin, that is history and only they know what arrangement / agreement that was reached. It is about what appears to be a case of nobody is allowed to say GNVP, to think GNVP. Stu was offering information on a range of suppliers and one in particular was deliberatly removed. BANG OUT OF ORDER

I'll put the soap box away now, Sorry Embarassed

Don't apologise. My soap box is also away now Smile

Whilst I completely understand (and agree with) the context and nature of Stu's complaint, I think we need to look to a wider world. Neutral

I'm currently spending my days sobbing at my desk, waking up in the middle of the night, feeling like my life is totally in limbo, all because my constant companion of 14 years is on his last legs.

I log into here to find this sort of nonsense and it really makes me wonder how important the forum life really is to some folks. Confused

and so we have the answer - any thread of mass disgruntlement (excellent bTW) can easily be dampened down by simply introducing a mutt ( Dog ) post into it Thumbs Up

I do think the whole site leaning to be a sponsor cash cow is detracting from the forum. Never seen the likes of it on other forums that are also sponsored.

I didn't see the mods deleting the word 'Halfords' for example so we do have selective modding that appears to be financially motivated, ala GNVK (or whatever they are called) haven't paid so they cant even be talked about which is utterly stupid.

What seems to Censored people off is the underhand way the modding is being done not your right to do it. phpbhb which this forum runs on has the built in tools to provide a much better level of modding than simply deleteting or ninja editing.

I don't have an axe to grind either way but not a good sign at the moment Martin, the forum will be worth Censored without the members remember that.
