Had problems getting the laptop to connect but installed fine of the PC so 30m of cable and sat in the warm I managed to get a few things sorted.
FBH wasn't getting any fuel so ended up pulling all the pipes and blasting through with air, plenty of priming and hey presto, I have a working FBH.
Thanks to all for the advice and tips that have been posted, saved me hours of work and probably lots of cash.De-Tango

If it is equivalent to a SIM equipped TeleStart then it probably won't work, the D3 FBH has been reported not to operate with TeleStart units. That info is in on wiki page.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

That's wrong, that data is only correct for the Discovery 4, not 3.
There is no Telestart option for a D3, and the heater fitted is a ThermoTop V, not Vevo.
The Vevo is on the D4, and there is a Telestart T91 option.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Anyone connected to a D4 VEVO unit via the Webasto software and a serial OBD K-line converter?

ok, after reading 32 pages and many other threads, order an OBDII and will fix the wiring myself. However, I am still puzzled and wonder whether I need al this. Contracry to most, my fbh does fire up, both autonomous as well as via IIDTool. Stops however after some 2-2,5 mins. From IIDTool live values I can see the glow plug up to 50-60% and once the glowplug stops, fuelpump stays on a bit, and than switches off. Lot's of smoke though during the process. Not sure whether it has worked at all, I think it has. So what to look for? Have tried to purge once and checked operation (multiple times) both successful.
Also, how do I get access to the fuel pump, is that via the wheelarch or by removing some protection @ right hand underside.RLD Sump Guard

Remove the plastic tray that covers the transmission, the pump is located on a cross member near the fuel tank.De-Tango

I purchased the correct USB-OBDII lead and made the connection to Pin4/5 for ground (I connected both for ground) Pin 16 for 12v feed and Pin 7 for the K/W Bus........
Downloaded the Webasto software.....
My discovery is a 55 plate and has the red wire fitted in Pin 2 of the 8 way FBH plug - so I cut this wire and added some crimps, then connected Pin 7 of my new lead to the FBH Plug Pin 2.....
Open Webasto program - select W-Bus from the list and start diagnostics..........Nothing!
I just get the WTT Initializing message but thats all, so would appear it's not talking - can anyone shed any light on that for me?
