I've got a 06 model, but it is not in the range Question . I also don't have oil in the line either.

It's a big recall, 146K Discovery 3's if the numbers run without gaps Shocked

My brake pedal has just started to travel a bit to far for my liking, I just checked and i have oil in the pipe, and my VIN qualifies.

I know my dealer has my number, because they are always trying to sell me stuff. lets see if they can find it when i need them too!

Thumbs Up

I went through all this back in March and had a struggle with LR to do something about it. Eventually after having the vehicle off the road for 4 weeks, they replaced the offending pipe section. I always had the feeling that my explanation of the symptoms was falling on deaf ears as it was intermittent. Looks as though LR have finally got the bit between their teeth.

It would be interesting to know how many other D3 drivers/owners have had that heart stopping moment when applying the foot brake to have the pedal go to the floor. I must be a fan of LR though as I've just bought a D4!

A bit more worrying - mines not in the VIN range for either (05MY) but did have oil in the line and both faults all repaired under extended warranty!

Mine's right in the middle of the VIN range for both too. Must admit though, I've not had any symptoms so far, just have to wait for the recall I guess.

I like the casual way they just say "... In extreme cases, it is possible that the vehicle may catch fire." in the fuel pump one, I wonder how the insurance would stand on that?

Mine's 122 short of the range but had no heart stopping break moments.

Is the oil in the brake servo problem also applicable to petrol engines? I have a V8 and is a 55 reg and outside the Vin range.
Just want to know. I will check tonight anyway.

Thanks

TDV6 only Roel, most petrol engines do not require a vacuum pump for brake servo.Although as I've said before, LR are half asleep with the VIN no's, mine is prior to the quoted range and has oil in the pipe, so what do they expect me to do? drive round with potentially fatal brakes? Evil or Very Mad........Just as well I have another (much better built and reliable) vehicle to use at the moment eh?
