Well, I found the site referred to by mzc and thought to myself - my car has been off the road longer than that! It has also had waaaaaaaaay more spent on warranty repairs - probably getting close to a record for Australia! Still, I love it.

Is that because it is at the Dealers I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

The thread should be "unreliability issues"
The rattle in mine is getting worse and the gear box is clunking again. Pete

even after all the $$ that has just been spent on it
From all the stories, it seems to me that 1/2 the problem may be the people who are supposed to be fixing these issues... Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Well, the first 2 HPFP failures on mine were from a funky designed bearing - courtesy of LR. The other 2 replaced were because the installation of the redesigned part was incorrect - too much tension on the bearing, wearing it out prematurely. So for mine, it was exactly 50/50 as you say Tris.
