Old Joh set qld up as a low tax state, but I could'nt help but think qld needs a 1-2 cent litre fuel tax to pay for the developing and maintaining state roads. With the population growth qld has, it will need it!!!!!!
Trust me, what could go wrong?

Somehow they have run up a $50 billion deficit
without building any infrastructure........probably
the same as NSW where they have increased the public
service. BTW NSW have a "no sack policy" for the public service.
We have quite a few expensive beaucrats in our little hospital system here,
that dont actually have a job but still gett paid

I don't think the denomination matters, the timeframe and complete lack of a real opposition does.

Labor will probably get in again in Qld because there is no one else to vote for Big Cry

In NSW Labor will lose. The opposition still isn't worth voting for, but they are still less not worth voting for Shocked

Back on with the thread, I've driven my last Land Rover. The D3 has been far too unreliable. Between 30 and 40 trips back to the dealer for warranty work. Now out of warranty, replaced 2 suspension compressors (yes, first replacement compressor failed first day) 2 weeks ago (6 days to fix), now Alternator failure and battery replacement. It just going from bad to worse.

Discomaniac.

i think it is generally acknowledged that 04-05 models have a higher share of problems, and things are generally ok from MY06, and bulletproof for MY07 on.

I agree Razzle, there would appear to be a theme that the early models have a lot of problems.

My MY08 is going great, but I just hope the apparently "Early Model" issues are not just 3 - 4 year down the track issues waiting to hit me.

I should also add I am having more problems with my MY07 Mazda SP23. Nothing major but lots of little electrical things like seat belt warnings on seats with no one sitting in them etc.

They are little things that i just get fixed at service time, but if this was happening on a Disco people would say "see, they're unreliable..."

but i still love my Mazzie too!

Yes - 22,000K's now, a fair bit of off-road work and about half towing a 1000Kg off-road camper trailer. Problems so far - zero. Cost of running - zero (free service under corporate plan), excluding diesel of course and all the money I've chosen to spend on 'bits' Smile So hopefully later models aremuch better.
Cheers.

My 2005 D3 has had a few "niggles" but nothing to stop me (apart from when I ran out of fuel after the fuel sender was dislodged during off-road training. Shocked )

I love this car. Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

Best Wishes,

I don't really want to drag this out... but wanted to make one more comment about the new fuel pump.

It has only been in for about 1.5 tanks of caltex diesel - and it was starting to make a loud bearing-like noise at idle. I was down to 1/4 tank this morning - so used the new shell card. By the time I made it home - about 10 minutes driving - the noise had almost gone. In addition, I drove from home to Dee Why and then back and got about 9.5L/100km... through some heavy traffic in the rain.

In summary - I don't think my previous fuel provider has enough lubrication in their product for the D3 HP fuel pump and won't be going back.

Most unreliable vehicle I've owned

My D3 has been the most unreliable vehicle I've owned.

Here's my tally of warrany problems since NEW:

Leaking wiper washer bottle.
Red air bag warning light on dash.
Fuel Guage fails intermittently.
Warning light and LCD message. Loss of Air in Suspension.
Brake sensors indicate low brake pads (introduced fault by dealer).
Fuel flowing on to the ground under the tank (TWICE introduced by dealer).
Cruise control would not turn off from steering wheel control.
Surging engine / engine cut out on cornering (introduced fault by dealer chasing fuel gauge problem).
Amber light “Engine” on dash came on.
Wheel alignment is stuffed (by dealer adjustments).
Split in Rear Drive shaft CV boot.

It's spent a total of 50 days at the dealers on 18 separate occations over an 18 month period.

Totally unacceptable long list of faults, and Totally poor speed at rectifying them (Thanks Solitare!)

Sounds more like a dealer problem.
Most are known faults reating to the clock spring (rotary coupler)
Do you have more than one dealer in Adelaide?
