Retrofit Surround cameras
Started testing surround camera stuff to go in a mates car..
I already have surround cameras in mine , so wired in a new module and used my exsisting ccf to make sure in principle it will work ...which it did
Just need to set up his ccf for surround cameras then give them a quick test before the hard work of routing all the wires
Made up the connector which goes in back of screen and down to the camera module ...all working great
Car in bits (again )
taking power and can bus signal from diagnostic port for testing
surround camera module
just one camera fitted
reversing lines gererated by the module

You certainly relish a challenge Wiggs Would there be any way to say intercept the footage from one of the front cameras and record it somehow? Cheers Ian

I have done this with my sankey ... Have another camera fitted to the rear of the trailer ... And watch it on the screen .
Because its digital I can zoom in / out as well
You could quite easily add another camera ( non LR ) to the screen .. Either access it via diagnostic ... Or put some sort of switcher in between and watch it when you select reverseG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Roll on raspberry pi ... That's one of the first things I will be trying .. If I can wake the car up without draining too much power
You can do it quite easily with the car on ... Just interrupt the signal at the back of the screenG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Wiggs, Is it possible to add a split screen view if trailer view is selected (S/Camera) so that you select either the trailer view or the caravan rear camera view or both as per the surround camera primary screen.
Thanks Des

you would need some sort of switcher ...if you wanted to see one or the other .
or if you wanted both then you would need some sort of camera multiplexerG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks Wiggs,
I was thinking along the lines to display the normal trailer view with the view from an additional camers on the back of the caravan on the same screen multiplexed ior singlerly
What can you do with the companion I/P?
Cheers
