Yeah of course. A loose cap does cause it to run hotter.
I only meant to leave it loose while stationary. Sorry

Hey all
Had a long drive today and gave it a bit of a boot on the way home with 3.5 tonne trailer. All went well.
Bit smelly at the end still smells now a bit. Maybe itβs just the old oil burning off the chassis.
Seemed to pull off ok with just clutch, but the battery light was flashing and it strained the engine. So I gave it a bit of revs to help pull off. On average uphill street roads and roundabouts etc.
Giving it a few revs before hand and trying to catch the clutch straight after for a bit more power to move in traffic etc. And trying to stay in 1500 minimum on revs as well as the usual timing cars etc to keep motion and reduce strain.
I need to try this low to high switch for hill starts too
Thanks again
