Hi,
If you read back through the posts, the cables for splitting are discussed somewhere about pages 6/7.
I think there are four fakra cables on the Bosch unit and I can’t remember which is what, but you can use trial and error.
Various settings regarding mph are also covered in there somewhere. The easiest way to configure your screen and get everything you need is to install a new android launcher.
Can you post a link to the unit you are buying.Keep us updated on your progress.

Right, all arriving next Tuesday. can anyone help me with which connectors on the rear of the Bosch head unit are the DAB antenna and the GPS antenna. I am going to try to split them both.

Try searching for Dab antenna on the forum,or maybe try tracing back on the wiring diagram which I think can also be found on here.
This photo shows the connector numbers

I tried all the different combinations without success in my D4 (MY12)
If you go back to Page 21, you will see my DAB antenna connection was actually to a module in the rear.D1 3Door (White) Long gone
D1 3 Door (Red) Long gone
D2 5 Door (Charleston Green) Long gone
D4 HSE (Black)

I think i can tap it off the input feed to the DAB module. my only concern is splitting an antenna will change its impedance

in fact there is a DAB antenna amplifier in the headlining above the rear quarterlight. the antennas are on the window. the centre antenna is the DAB FM one. There is one on each side of the car hence two inputs to the DAB receiver.

The length of a coaxial cable does not affect its impedance. If you split a piece of 50 ohm cable anywhere, both pieces will be 50 ohm cables. For a uniform transmission line, the characteristic impedance is not a function of length; it will only depend on parameters such as the radii of the conductors and the type of insulation or dielectric used between the conductors.Or has my head explode

I think what Grinder75 means by splitting the cable is creating a 'Y' cable. You now have two impedances in parallel which will halve the impedance and result in a 3dB signal loss.

Exactly that. the radio amateur in me tells me that splitting an the DAB coax, so one goes to the cars host system, and the other to my DAB dongle for the tesla screen is likely to result in about 3db loss. however, the antenna has a preamp (the little grey box in the headlining, and thus far, I have split, and no discernible effect. The D4 has a DAB antenna on either side, so the overall loss is likely to be negligible.

My bigger headache this week is trying to suppress the RF noise generated by the Nextbase dashcam hardwire circuit. have had to use quite a number of ferrites.

Flickering screen
I fitted a Tesla style screen last September supplied by Yanav (aliexpress).
It has been working just fine until around a week ago when a small flickering appeared at the bottom of the screen. Since then this has grown and all the screen is now flickering constantly.
Anyone else had any similar issues?
Have messaged Yanav and awaiting reply. Will keep you updated.2015 Discovery 4 HSE
