LR won’t make a penny if you don’t buy new cars.
That excludes 98% of the forum then

Back in the day (gawd.. over 10 years ago) this wasn't a problem as everyone had a new one under warranty
Its only natural that the natives will get restless when their 'cheap to buy but expensive to maintain' second hand motors start to break down...
Is this issue any worse than other marques?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I think these things are tragic for individuals but blown out of proportion, no worse than other brands and actually just life, but also actually not a JLR issue if passion is taken out of it.
It’s a shame we feel a need to pick on a British brand at this time we want them to do more and succeed keeping uk manufacturing and thousands in work.Mike

Such as shame they seem to concentrate more on how they can get out of something in place of solving it.
I would say all car makers have the same ideas ie jit deliveries and the same requirement for their hauliers to have insurance cover in place for failed deliveries in place, so thats not something you can solely blame of land rover.
As said above if people want to hurt them just dont buy their products, it really is that simple.
Was definately not blaming anything to do with that on LR alone just suggesting that blocking deliveries wouldnt take long to mess up their operation although im sure they would survive 24 hours or so never mind a few hours.D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

Speaking as a first time buyer and someone who was looking to change my old bus for a new £100k+ FFRR, I can confirm LR distributors are .
I love my old bus. She’s 14 years old with 230k on the clock and is stupidly reliable. However, she will be my first and last LR because of the reliability and poor customer service.
Get those right and I’d have bought another,New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

Agreed. This place gets more depressing every day.
I’m not suggesting that LR doesn’t have its problems, I’ve certainly experienced one of them, but the combined talk of getting debates in parliament, interfering with supplies to the factory and publicising petitions is getting completely surreal.
Let’s keep some sense of proportion 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

The issue with this statement is that the very fact you have even read this suggests you already have bought one of their products (as your on this forum). I forget the exact old statistic but isn't it something like 70% of all Land Rovers ever sold are still on the roads? This means that the vast majority of Land Rovers are in the second hand "enthusiasts" market, the very people that are being most let down by JLR.
Many land rover forums have members who do not own a land rover product.
Many other car forums have members who do not even own that make of car, one Audi forum the moderator has a ford, he tends to get upset if you mention it though!
Ps the 70 percent figure actually means 70 percent have been left on the roads where they broke down
