New D4 owner - Questions for the experienced!
Hi,
After looking at a fair few D4s (some by forum members), I finally got round to buying one yesterday. It’s a bit of an odd bod in that it’s an 2010 XS model but it had loads of options put on it when new.
1.) How do I know if it’s halogen or xenon lights. From the handbook it seems as if only the halogen lights had the light leveller but mine hasn’t. Is mine therefore Xenon?
2.) it’s got the Harmon Logic 7 stereo in it. Where can I find out more info about this. Any idea what the wattage is?
3.) ive taken the cover off the back and all the electrics are there. Does that mean it would have had a detachable tow bar on it? I can’t find it anywhere. Even in the stowage place specified in the handbook.
4.) it’s had a full dealer service history up till now and I’m keen to continue with that. Where will I find the service intervals?
Cheers
Dave

to know it's xenon. Point the lights at a wall or whatever. When you turn them on they will gets brighter in around 3 seconds and change colour.
Towbar has probably been sold.
I would service yearly (more often if doing high miles)

Welcome to the joy that is D4 ownership
Would be helpful if you could fill in your profile now that you are a proud owner
The detachable tow bar should be in the cubby hole in the boot - left had side as you look into the boot - and should have a pre-molded foam holder. If neither of these are there then as previously mention, owner has sold them.Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

All vehicles with air suspension have the headlights auto levelling, due to keeping the vehicle level. I believe the only ones with manual levelling were early base model D3 vehicles with coil spring suspension.

Lack of a detachable bar should make it easier to justify paying for a proper one to be fitted

That’s for all the replies.
Looks like the towbar has gone walkabout then. Not urgent, the 110 can do towing duties for the time being.
I will have a look at the service schedule and see where the vehicle is in relation to it.
Still can’t find anything ok the Logic 7
One last thing, i came home this evening via a gentle green lane and there is a knocking fr the front offside. I’m guessing that this is one of the wishbones on its way out? There is also a slight vibration at higher speeds which I thought was just wheel balance but could this be related to the knock?
More questions sorry.
Oh, I have updated my profile, and it looks like mine is nearly identical to yours. Stornaway Grey. I will post some pics when I actually stop driving it
