SWMBO is starting to hint at a FL2 to replace her Jazz. Don’t think I would argue against it. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

I've driven many FL2s over the years as courtesy cars. Stand alone, they're a good bit of kit. I'm not a fan of the steering - it feels rubbery and elastic band like to me. The interior works well and there's a decent amount of space. Not a fan of the engine though but then I'm comparing it with the excellent 3.6 TDV8 so it would always be marked down there.
I've driven 1 DS as a courtesy car. I quite liked it, I have to say. Nicer interior than the FL2 but it does feel more car-like and less utilitarian than the FL2. I guess that was LR's idea with it.
Of course, neither compares to any of the big LRs - the Disco, RRS or FFRR - but taken in isolation, they're both good vehicles.
I did once have an FL1 with the V6 engine as a courtesy car - the indy I use had run out of FL2 on the day. I was impressed by the FL1. It didn't feel as old to drive as the exterior suggested it might. A good little vehicle.  Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

My biggest gripe with the FL2 engine was its relative thirst. It's as close to "bomb proof" as it gets though for a LR vehicle. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

The March 2018 sales figures are out in case it wasn’t mentioned before in this thread.

If one wants to look at positive things, out of all LR vehicles, the new Disco is the only one which has increased sales in March compared to last year same month, this quarter compare to last year same quarter and this fiscal year compared to last fiscal year.
Of course the RR Velar wasn’t available last year for the same time intervals. Seems to sell as good as the D5 so far this fiscal year.
All other sales are down. Retail sales volume this fiscal year and previous has increased by around 10k vehicles to 614k.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to draw a fair comparison with the figures from a year ago, as the Discovery 4 had been out of production for 6 months and the '5 was only just becoming available. With no virtually zero stock to sell, registration figures were always likely to be very low for the quarter ending March 2017.
The rest of the figures are a cause for concern for LR  2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4

2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
