thanks m24com
It was O2!!
As my number hadn't been used, they cut me off !!
Got re-instated, but they didn't reinstate the unused £10 credit.
So another top -up of £10 on it's way.
Will then try sending an SMS as you describe.

TTV Fuel Pump Connections |
|
Hi All,
I'm struggling with installing my TTV for which I had to buy a new fuel pump as it came without one. I gather pin 5 on the 8-way connector on the TTV is the +ve connection to the fuel pump and the other of the 2 fuel pump connections goes to earth... but which way round do they go? I have the proper plug for the pump. Can someone tell me, is pin 1 earth and 2 +ve or he other way round? Or does it b*£&£^y matter anyway?
Regards, MW.

Just got this email from Danhag. If you guys don't already know I guess it's kinda good news....?
"Dear Eirik,
we just succeeded in controlling the Heater-Blower and the Airflaps in an Landrover Discovery 3. This system will be available in about two weeks.
Unfortunately, i don't know, if it will work in an Freelander 2 too.
Do you have an wiring diagram of the clima-control?
Regards, daniel"
so.......I'm stuck with the FL2. Does anybody know if it has the same control unit? Does the Disco3 have the Thermo Top V?

I am sorry to report that at least with on the car I tried it with (model year 2006. manufactured late 2005), it did not function.
FBH fires when using the oval timer, but when w-bus signal from that GSM box is connected to the same pin, nothing happens (except for error led switches on in the GSM box).
With a 2005 machine you may not need w-bus. Try the constant +12V out signal from the GSM module, it should have one. Also check that the heater is in working condition i.e. hasnt stopped listening for signals due to 3 false starts (will need clearing, someone on here knows how to do that, otherwise its a dealer job) There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

This info is from 'Manuel' from athread at:- https://sourceforge.net/projects/libwbus/f...dex/page/1
Hi,
The conenctors of the TTV:
Connections of a Thermo Top V heater
8-pin connector
Pin 1: Don't know.
Pin 2: W-Bus (diagnosis or Webasto 1533 type timer clock)
Pin 3: Supposedly a temperature sensor goes here for supplemental heating. Not sure.
Pin 4: CAN low
Pin 5: metering/dosing fuel pump connect here against ground. Fuel pump polarity does not matter.
Pin 6: Solenoid Valve output. Connect a dummy load (200- 500 ohm, 2Watt) against ground if you get "solenoid valve" related error codes.
Pin 7: CAN high
Pin 8: Output for cabin ventilation fan control. Connect relay coil against ground if required.
2-pin connector (reachable directly, not to be confused with where the white glow plug connector goes under the Plastic cover).
Pin 1: Battery plus. I use a 35 Amp fuse on this line. The 20 Amp fuse still blew up immediately. Peak current is high, maybe a slower and lower rated fuse also does the job.
Pin 2: ground
3-pin connector
Pin 1: no idea
Pin 2: circulation pump +
Pin 3: circulation pump ground
If die because of this writing / information its your own fault.
Cheers,
Manuel
I hope it is of assistance to others (as it was to me).
Does anyone know if any device is required on the hot water circuit to allow for hot water expansion?

There is a bit more info about using the TTV heater here... https://sourceforge.net/projects/libwbus/f...dex/page/1
This is mainly about controlling the TTV from a computer using some special programming codes and the Webasto Thermo Test diagnostic program Version 2.07 but there is some more stuff about connections etc. some may find useful.

Having read this thread and instructions I have one question......
If I install the 1533 (with or without GSM or remote facility), does it work if I go out to the car, unlock it and press the flame button.
Some posts suggest it won't fire the FBH if the car is awake?
Could someone please clarify as I'm happy to pop out and press the button and don't need the GSM facility if the button works.
Thanks Tony

If the car is awake then it will control the fbh and override the action of the 1533. That is why this members of this forum devised the rf remote and gsm methods of starting the fbh when the car is asleep.
I think that is clearly stated in the various threads on the fbh. Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done
Discovery HSE MY16 (good apart from the heating), now sold
Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)
Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE MY08
Saab 9-5 Aero 2002 (gone but not forgotten)

Thanks for the confirmation.
The less technical amongst us like to double/triple check stuff, as having read the instructions and 50+ pages of threads we want to be sure we didn't miss the one post that changed everything said before and then we do something wrong, or spend £150 on kit we don't need.
Thanks to all who have worked on this issue BTW - much appreciated. Tony

Hi at 60 little bit new all of this
Have purchased thermotop V out of V/W out of Europe on ebay was going to use it as heater fro my RV but wiring and controller is problem.
Unit is practically brand new has two input leads for 12V DC and four small leads from second plug I am guessing two of these leads are for fuel pump and other two are some sort of signal. Can you help in assisting me in wiring this up to use as water heater. wires are Purple, purple/red, Orange/Black and orange/purple
Could you reply to my email davenicko@exemail.com.au
Any help would be greatfully aapreciated. Interesting that posts are talking about starting these units for the first time it is 42 C here today.

Things seems to be in progress
I found this today: http://www.car-chief.com/GSM-Steuerung/GSM...Rover.html
There is written that this bundle fits for the Land Rover Discovery 3 and Range Rover Sport with auxiliary heater. It contains the GSM-remote control v7.0 with integrated alert function and the heater-blower-control-box to control the heater-blower and the air-flaps . With this bundle you can easily upgrade your auxiliary heater, so the engine and the in-cabin-room will be heated without to have the engine running.
I've asked couple more questions about details - if I find out anything interesting will let you guys know
