Our Rights to Bar or Disconnect Your Mobile Phone
7.1 If you do not make or receive a chargeable call at least once in any 6 month period your Mobile Phone will be disconnected and you will lose any remaining credits balance on your Account. If you wish to be re-connected after this time you will be given a new Mobile Phone number.
Thing is, when you call the FBH, it doesn't actually log as a call and therefore use of the mobile number - ?
If that's so, surely if I were to use mine every day, it wouldn't log and therefore I'd still be in the same position as I'm in today?

I send a signal strength query to mine every now and then which gets it to send me a SMS in return, seems to have kept it alive for over a year now. It's a Tesco Mobile SIMThe End

Tis what I did, mine sim went in last October, so as a calender reminder I requested a Signal Strength too. Reminder set for another year
Assuming you've got the same 'Dial to Open' device as many have used take a look at the manual http://www.quantek.co.uk/downloads/GSM_OP.pdf

I volunteered here on the Forum some weeks back to pilot if Dehag's GSM box -- the one that provides integrated w-bus -- works with FBH.
I am sorry to report that at least with on the car I tried it with (model year 2006. manufactured late 2005), it did not function.
FBH fires when using the oval timer, but when w-bus signal from that GSM box is connected to the same pin, nothing happens (except for error led switches on in the GSM box).

A bit off topic.... In need of guidance, please!
I was about to start my gsm/timer installation last night, when I found that the control panel slot nr two, allready had a red wire connected:
I also found this on the other side of the FBH, which seems like a connector that goes nowhere:
Could this be the remains of an earlier installation, or is this original on my MY2005 thermotop V's??
I'm no expert and do not want to screw things up, so please help me, anyone D3 MY2005 TDV6 HSE PP

Hello! Just cut the red wire in to the FBH, its not used by the controller. Saves you to search for a pin...
I would also report that i installed a Denhag-box (phone w/W-bus) a couple of days ago, and its working like a charm!!!

Its a stand-alone GSM-remote with W-bus output. Check out danhag.de. It even overrides the CAN-bus from the car, so it isn't dependant of the car beeing 'asleep' (the PRO-version of the box, that is).

Hello! Don't know about the basic version, but could try programming my box to send the plain W-bus protocol to the FBH. They were helpful, no problem there. They informed me of the problems getting the fans to operate on the Disco (although thats old news). Shouldn't be any problems to use in the UK, no problems here in Norway. One important thing I found, is that you shouldn't configure the reciver with your countrycode. This are specified in the operating manual, but didn't work for me. Probably network-dependant. Else it uses standard SIM-card.

Your 'Dial 2 Open' GSM should already accept SMS commands from your phone. As long as you have credit on your SIM the device should return a reply (to check the status) if you SMS #PWD******#RLY? (the stars are your six digit pasword). You can download the manual from Dial 2 open website and it walks you through setting up your password - after that you can throw the manual away. Phil
