After the 1st term he and his Gf set up a house share with their mates.
We had to go up the 1st day because it needed a good clean and they didn’t like spiders A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

RRSTVD - don’t even go there! They dont contact us unless they want something then it’s on FaceTime and it’s just John Lennon and Yoko - in bed all the time. You don’t get one without the other, they play with each others hair and stuff. Not really parent appropriate. 🤮
Hairy Fool, you must be related to SWMBO! That’s what she’d do although not that keen on spiders. The Millennials are a precious bunch.

Precious bunch indeed! When I started at boarding school my parents did as they were told (being good military folk and used to taking orders) and left me there for the staff to help square my stuff away. Come holiday time, I had to take my suitcase across town to the bus station, catch a bus to York station, a train to London, find the RAF Movements team to check in and be put on a train back out to Luton and then a flight to Germany. And I was 8yo. Sure, there were 3 or 4 of us doing the same thing but the oldest was an ancient 11yo. These days you'd not only get hanged for letting a child do that, the child would probably sue you for making them do it!
Which brings the obligatory:

How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

3 hour drive to vacuum spiders A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
Can't they just pick them up? There's kudos to doing so. A spider fell from an office ceiling onto the desk of a young apprentice, who screamed the place down in a massive panic attack. I picked up the spider and threw it out the door. At that point, she would have had my children. For years later, every time our paths crossed, she would give me a hug.
Mind you, myself and two friends got thrown out of Loughborough Cinema for throwing rubber spiders during a screening of Arachnaphobia.

Color is in fact a perfect example. It is the original old English spelling which gradually changed, including in the American colonies. America even kept the English spelling for 70 years or so after independence although there is no real explanation as to why they eventually reverted back to the old version.
The more significant switch to more general use of phonetic (AKA lazy ) spelling happened much later

The Dentist!
Usual 6 monthly check and a very small chip repair - £430.
Wouldn’t mind, but there’s a sharp edge to the repair that I’ve got to go in this morning for him to fix.
SWMBO has an appointment next month and also needs a small chip repair, so I guess the cost will be the same.

Sharp-edged tooth? Dremel!
I am not that brave to try a bit of DIY tooth sculpting.
Anyway, I am just back and all is good. I just walked past the receptionist aka Dick Turpin on the way out and bid her good day. At least she didn’t shout at me for trying to avoid an extra bill.
I’ll get sung next month as well because attempting to score Brownie points I said I’d pay for SWMBOs appointment and treatment. Maybe that was a bit rash, but I can’t go back on it now.
Chased up a medical letter that I was promised via email a week ago ... needed some of it for a pension chat, which it never appeared in time for.
Couldn't use it anyway ... nurse has recorded my height as 159cm instead of 179cm - makes the BMI figure waaaaay to exaggerated for me to use !
