Mantec Group Buy
Sorry - I haven't been slow off the mark adding my name as I've only just seen the post. I'm number 24 so hopefully JMC will confirm that I'll be catered for!

I've always thought of them as nice looking accessories that just might serve a purpose once in a blue moon.
There were a couple of blue moons today
& If I hadn't had my Mantec, there's no way the standard plastic cover would have survived todays 'thumping' on the exit from the Dartmoor watersplash.
So...
Thanks for saving my front end JMC Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!
It's easy to forget that there's lots of new blood on the forum. Having supplied about 70 of these plates to forum members over the last 3 group buys, I guessed (wrongly) that it wouldn't happen again. Frankly, I've been very surprised how quickly we have got up to 24.
Oh! and I keep getting PMs asking if it is easy to fit.....
Answer: Get a 10 year old kid and a socket set - job done.

PHEW! Saw this and assumed it was an older thread (ie number 3 before I found d3/owned a d3!)
Worth the wait for the price will love to see the LR RRP!2007 TDV6 XS Silver
Running with some BioDiesel
4x4 Prejudice
Was out on the shoot, picking up yesterday, and was following a Merc ML that went through a very deep puddle and lost it's front undertray. So I told SWMBO who was sitting next to me that this is a problem on D3s and that you can get a proper metal guard replace the plastic one. She said let's get one!!
So, do I tell her I've already ordered one and pay for it or keep quiet and let the joint account pay for it?
Also, how can I win her over with an expo roof rack? The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Well technically, you haven't bought it yet, so surely it could come from joint funds......... You can un-sign for it and then re-sign so your date appears only today after you did some research on the nest buy. Think of the savings & if you quote her LR's price for the winch version, she should see the savings....
Then you have some more pocket money for the Expo roof rack (although really think, do you need one.....?)Bodsys Brake Bible

Tell her that the birds you shoot love to hide in low trees and can only be shot at close range! Then you need the expo rack to protect the roof or sunroof!!!
Bodsy, I'll leave my sign up as is as the Mrs doesn't come on here and won't see it. I'll still go for the joint account payment tho...
DSL, my wife is exceptionally gullable, but don't think even I could get away with that....
I was going to try the spare wheel on the roof thing, that she, alone, would find it impossible to get the spare wheel out from under the car, but even if I'm there, having to remove the dogs (on a busy motorway-that'll be the clincher), then the Lintran box before winding down the wheel.... Although she being 5 foot nothing-ish, she'd have no chance getting the spare off the roof either but desparate measure and all that.....The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

Now! ...that IS the BIG question .... one that I've been asking myself.
Let me know what the answer is when you find out!!
Still not able to come up with a decent excuse ... err sorry ... reason!!
Nice work on the Mantec BTW ..... just hoping swmbo's not in when mines delivered...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.
Expo rack? Easy-Peasy. You wait until a passing Irish member decides to move to South Africa and offload various bits of kit including his expo rack. You then point out to SWMBO that you've been looking at the expo racks for a while but can't justify the cost. 24 hours later you remark how that nice Brendan you met at the Salisbury Plain trip is selling his for half price. Job done
Obviously SWMBO sees through these amateurish attempts at deception, but she awards marks for artistic interpretation and effort. No effort, not toys. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
