Just seen this thread, sorry if this has already been mentioned, I've not got time to read it all the way through right now, but just wondered if anyone had got a price from German Swedish and French?
I've just bought the OEM pump from a Citroen/Renault parts supplier in Czech Rep called jcparts.eu. Cheaper but on reflection doing as NJSS suggests is most probably your best bet.

A huge thanks to “Disco Mikey” (MMP Land Rover Diagnostic Specialist) today for fitting a new oil pump to my Disco 3!! He traveled 120 miles (one way) and got the job done in a morning – great service and highly recommended to all…. Now I’m saving for the “BIG” brakes mod

Oil light
Hi Can I just ask disco mikey a silly question, I have been watching this forum for ages but this is my first post so can't pm yet. Is it worth changing the oil pump as a preventative measure. I have a 57 Reg disco 3 so falls into the problem time 88k miles. The independent that looks after it has recently flushed the oil for me and fitted a new filter after I thought the oil pressure light took a while longer to go out on starting. He says oil pressure is good and oil sensor is ok but after 3 yrs of disco ownership I am paranoid. Thanks for letting me go on about this in public. This forum is fab 8
Is it worth changing the oil pump as a preventative measure.
That's an unequivocal yes - because of the cam belt tensioner primarily, rather than oil pressure. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Thx for reply I had the belts changed last year but guess they didn't change the oil pump at the same time, and I hadn't realised it was a problem then or would have asked for it to be done.
Guess I will looking around for it to be done
Might have a drive to find a new expert

Having, nearly!, finished changing the belts and pump on our disco I am full of admiration for those who can do this job in a day. Although I was unexpectedly delayed when the pump didn't arrive when it was due to, I recon it will have taken me at least 2 days.
The main areas that I found difficult were; the rear cover, the fan (I don't have a pulley holding tool) and the starter motor. Also I bought a cheap locking and setting kit and none of the pins fitted without being reduced in diameter.
Should be up and running as soon as the new sump arrives. I am looking forward to driving it without worrying about the condition of the overdue belts!Simon.
