I have driven lorries for most of my life and we just tootle along at 56 MPH My old disco was off-road prepped and I only ever went 60 mph in that as it was to noisy above that. But this Discovery 3 seems as if it is standing still at 60 and not really moving at 70 it seems to feel a hell of a lot better ride at 80mph but i know my fuel economy will suffer, on a journey late at night on Saturday to Cambridge and back we got 22.8 mpg at a steady 80 MPH.

It will get better, I've just got back from a trip to Northampton from the South Coast, it is an hours trip to get onto the motorway where believe it or not I sat at 80-85 (except M25 road works) and my fuel consumption was 27.2mpg 8)DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
DS3 TDV6 HSE- Silver with Alpaca (new one) Gone
D4 HSE Lux - Montalcino Red Gone
Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel S
Checked mine for the first time yesterday after having had my Disco for a week (tyres were cold). Recommended pressures are:
Front 33psi
Rear 36psi normal load, 42psi full load
Discovered my dealer had set the front at 36psi and the rear at 44psi which is bound to have an effect on fuel economy.
I've only done 550miles so far, currently averaging around 27.5mpg

I have not yet mastered the art of uploading pictures to this part of the forum, like you clever ones but I have managed to get pictures into my gallery at last Take a look at the picture of my mpg which is about normal with the manual TDV6. Lowest was 26.7mpg with a trailer and lots of low ratio.

Scorpio, thanks very much. Oh how I wish I could paste a picture into a b****y message
Don't forget, (bit too honest here) I earn part of my living teaching drivers of fuel tankers and other things around the world how to get economy, so I should get good results.

I don't want to show off - too much , but I acheived this at a constant 56mph in My TDV6 Auto. It was a while ago and I posted about it at the time, but here it is again.

It is now showing 24.0 average.

Hmmm. cant seem to get a gallery image to display on a message. It shows 39.9 mpg anyway, and is viewable in my gallery.

Gareth, the mileage is what I get on average now. That includes all round driving and I don't hang about, had to buy a Road Angel in fact. Your 39 mpg has got to be a record of records, can anyone beat that

Yes, but I have to admit, it was very much a one of, never to be acheived again figure! I wish it was really that good!

Gareth, as it's a complete page and not an image you either need to put [url] and [/url] around the page link to create a hyperlink, or use the BBCode field from underneath it, which will give an in-line image:

FUEL COMSUMPTION
I have posted a picture in my gallery (BN) showing 30 MPG at 90 mph (in Germany before you say anything 8) ) which is what I am getting on a regular basis. I would love to do a bit of research on MPG any one any ideas, because so far I have never hit less than 26 mpg even towing. I know I earn my living with fuel economy, but some of you guys must have a vehicle problem to get below 24 mpg, I simply cannot do it and I think the picture shows it. This was taken on the last trip to Italy.
Lowest I've had is about 27mpg there again the highest so far is only about 29. Only done about 2250 miles so far though and it does seem to be getting better slightly each time
