Plus must get my other door puddle light fitted
Fitted mine today! Too bright outside to get a good picture, but they show up decently on the mucky hand of a mechanic.

Sunroof drains drivers footwell… not sure the drain was at fault though. Strimmer wire went through easy, carpet wasn’t wet at the top behind the pedals, just from an inch or so above the rubber mat down toward the seat, much much worse closer to the seat than forward of it, and toward the middle of the car rather than the door. Air con drain (I figure, little rubber hose under dash/centre console) appears to be ok too so slightly puzzled. Don’t tell SWMBO, I already fettle too much
Nevertheless, dried out the cable run beneath the doors (perched a rear wheel on a log for gravity assistance) and parked the dehumidifier in the drivers footwell for a couple of days after soaking loads out into rags from the under carpet foam, and giving the old vax a workout.
Pointed a hose at it for good measure, can’t see anything coming in anywhere. Time/weather will tell.
Counted the missing/broken trim clips (lots)
Removed all the dead T10 bulbs and counted the remaining working ones, ready to swap to LEDs. There’s quite a lot counting in footwells and under door lights!
Looking to replace the aging xenon bulbs with more xenons (they’re just, nice!) and will happily take recommendations for super-turbo reversing bulbs and any other LED bulb replacements that are must haves. A non-forum disco-friend sent me a link to some full beam H7 LEDs that he has on his. Apparently they make the sun look like a candle in a jar
Replaced the upper tailgate switch after a mere 3 months of using the key button to open it….
Peered down the back of the engine (again) to try and spot my fuel leak, still no idea.
Pulled the fuel hose off the FBH to see if anything was getting through, not a drop. So i think therein lies my FBH woes. Couldn’t get either hose off the pump and couldn’t feel it doing anything each time I triggered the FBH (remote fob).

Extra rear lights
So, I’ve been told I need to take the remaining of my leave from work before March 31st so I’ve booked every Friday off, and, as Dennis the D3 haven’t had much attention, I’ll be hanging out with him
So today I swapped out the rear reflectors on the bumper for some powered light. They look exactly like the stock reflectors but are now wired up to the brake lights and the rear fogs. Surprisingly easy job, reflectors just pop out, one extra hole required in the bumper for the wire (LR have even marked the spot to drill) and these pop straight in. Wire length allowed them to reach the rear clusters where I tied I directly to the lights loom.

Hi,
Where do you stand on the MoT as I thought you had to have reflectors on the rear? Great mod either way!Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

They’re still reflective, and checked the mot requirements, checks are around positioning & damage.2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Great! Ill have a look into getting them. I will have to have the rear bumper off to do the wheel carrier, so I can fire them in then.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

There are reflectors in the rear light clusters anyway.
I suspect these are extras fitted to ensure there are reflectors in the required height range if the suspension is in off-road setting.
I can't remember exactly, and can't be bothered checking ( ) but I think the rear reflectors have to be less than 900mm from the ground.

So worse case I just lower the suspension for the MoT, or if a over scrupulous traffic officer gets out a tape measure!Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

Got my “new to me” Tuff-trek awning tent during the week and it was the first chance to get it up and check it today. Went up pretty easy, zipping and clipping to my existing Terrafirma awning as if it was made for it, and must say it’s heavy but good quality, rubberised material on walls and roof, and heavy duty zips all round.
Taking my 5 year old for our first D3 camp without mommy at half term and he helped put it up today, he’s looking forward to trying it out

Pulled a fuse and watched the front sink to bump stops in just over an hour
Why do I do this to myself on MOT day? Still, at least the MOT will tell me if the wallowing is bushes, bearings or not. If not bushes, i suspect crosslink valve or dampers (original struts on a 54 plate). And either/all of those will also be the leak.
Also MOT day, will she pass? Nothing on her makes me feart. As long as the tester is assertive with the park brake switch (throws a fault if you’re too gentle, need to clean that up) I think she’ll be alright.
Edit: No advisories! But a fail. Rear wheel bearing excessive play.D4 XS Commercial - MY16 - Corris Grey

Swollen nuts
NSR wheel off (swollen nuts, gods do these things need jacked up a long way! Maxed out a 520mm jack and rear wheel was still firmly on the floor)
Hub nut off (somebody staked that in hard!) 1 metre breaker bar and an extra metre of scaff made light work of that!
Shoes retracted and disc off (hmmm so I need new shoes too)
Nuts and bolts soaking in penetrant overnight ready for taking the knuckle off for bearing and top bush.
Bodsy’s Brake Bible is a godsend already, and I’m still in the taking apart phase!D4 XS Commercial - MY16 - Corris Grey
