Why a Disco over a Range Rover?
Why did you buy a Disco instead of a RR?
I bought mine as i thought the D3 was better VFM and would be better off road.
I much prefer the looks of a RR tho.
so what was the reason?

Minor matter of not being able to afford a new FFRR.

I'm the opposite, preferring the more functional style of the D3 plus the additional seats are useful.

Not a pauper, just broke enough to be able to keep a D3 on the road.

HaHa. One thing that puts me off the Ranges is that they all seem to be driven by small women and wanna be gangstas. Being 23 and my OH being 21, I didn't want to people to think i was one of the above. (obviously i don't take what people think)

That statement implies that I wanted a FFRR but bought a disco instead. I didn't want a FFRR 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Do Range Rovers have similar problems/problem areas as the D3?..........I had a P38 for a while and ran it with no problems whatsoever....
I dont really know why I bought a D3 instead of a Range Rover, the D3 I found immediately said "Buy Me now!!" so I did......
After reading about all the disasters suffered by many Disco owners on this forum,no-one should ever buy one.....
I'm still thinking of getting a Focus or an S40 for emergency use!! DILLIGAF

Go to any car forum and it's full of disasters because that's where people having disaster tend to gravitate. Don't forget even if all 23k site users were active that would still represent only 5% of D3's & 4's 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I did consider a RR when looking for mine, however, it would have to be the 05 onwards facelift, then you have the TD6 gearbox issue. Plus it seemed a bit much to be driving to college in a RR.
So went for the Disco as there is more off road kit, the 7 seats make it more practical and i've always wanted a silver with black interior D3.
Don't regret my choice. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
