Hi I downloaded and burnt YA500010 DVD @ x1 speed but when inserting burnt disc the Land Rover badge flashes on and off the screen and the speakers 'pop'. Will try burning using another computer.

Hi All,
Thanks a lot for the thread - yesterday I bought a late 04 Disco 3, immaculate - only problem is the blank screen with the message HLDF CAN Bootloader Error. I've looked into the WIKI and have downloaded the file on the DVD.
I've placed key on position 1, took the gps dvd, added the new burnt dvd with the file from the wiki, but nothing happened.
The message is still there and it didn't have a progress bar. Just fyi, I've burnt it at the lowest speed I could 2.4x.
Anyone know what else can I try?
Also, different from everyone (i think), when I turn off the car, sometime the screen with the message stays on, and I have to try swtich on/off the car a few times lock/unlock a few times for it to shut down....
Any help is appreciated as I would be glad to know what this is and how to fix it

Did you use a +DVD or -DVD ? G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs - got the DVD-R (Sony DVD-R ver.2.1/1x-16x) and tried with a copy burnt at 2x and another at 4x and neither change the message on the screen to the status bar....

Any idea of why the unit is not uploading with the dvd file? I am just saving the file on my desktop and burning it to the dvd (18.8mb) - after burning just ejecting the dvd from the pc and inserting into the car.
any ideas anyone?
p.s: of course inserting in the dvd player below the passenger seat

What software are you using to burn the DVD ?
Try it with the engine running instead of key position 1 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I used the Finder on Mac (tried in both the Macbook Pro and the Imac)..could this be the issue?

YEY!!!It worked
So based on your comments I went and downloaded a new disc burning software on the mac, and burnt the dvd as "iso" which was the trick.
Did it with the car on and the gps now works - a real other deal!!!
