Injector problems
Any one had injector problems with your TDV6 or had the injectors changed. Had my D3 on Auto logic test and says I got injector problems with readings very high on 4 injectors. Engine starts and runs Ok, but under load misfires and loses power, both EGR valves changed last month. Any Clues before I spend £1200 on injectors.

Changed all 6 as 4 had high readings on the computer, so we will know in about an hours time when jobs complete if it cures the fault. when we got them out they were all diffrent in the way the nozzels looked some oily, some dry, some very carboned. I have only had the D3 since May and have done about 6000K since then so the lack of power under load was getting worse. (I tow alot with it ) I got to drive to York then upto Inverness this week towing about 2.5ton so this will be good test for the D3. We suspect the previouse owner had run it on Red diesel or some sort of home made Bio/cooking oil. This would have have knakered this type of common rail injector.

Already had a replacement engine. Would hope thats it fixed... My D3 Build Thread
I had a similar fault where it would stutter then go into limp mode. Fault code firstly pointed to EGRs but I didn't settle for that so just plugged a new one in to get rid of that fault, then it showed errors on injectors and fuel pressure- turned out to just be a fuel filter!!You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

Hi Guys
Well just got back from a 1300 mile round trip towing and guess what ?. Still the same fault . Under load the engine misfires when on the power take up causing the whole car to judder, also engine hunts when on constant rev range on motoway. Starts great, no smoke. great when not under load.
going to put it back on the computor today to see what codes come up this time.
Oh yea, D3 has 120K on the clock

Mines doing the same, and local indy is struggling to find the problem

Hi . Whilst the injectors have made the D3 start better and according to live data they are all running equal pressures now, so there was a problem. But the problem I have was not cured. Based on live data while driving with comp pluged in it, looks like one of the following may be the problem
1, common rail pressure sensor
2, Auto gear box speed sensor
I got fault codes P120F & P5000.
Will let you know how I get on with these and see if I can get the D3 back to health again.
Note: I have heard of a TDV6 in a RR sport that had injector pressure fault and that ended up with a burt out piston so I would get the injector pressures checked if I were you, even if you only have to replace one injector its would be worth it.

Similar problem to mine, only i have no error codes.
The judder/missfire - only occurs when the engine is warm, when applying power gently. If you plant the accelerator there is no judder and acceleration is brisk! When the engine is cold (ie off the temp guage) there is no judder/missfire.
The judder/missfire carries on as the revs and speed increases.
It is there from 1500rpm, but becomes most noticeable just less than 2000rpm upwards..
It does this in all gears, but is most noticeable in third + fourth
If I back off the accelerator it goes away – I would also say the engine is not as responsive under partial acceleration.
Mine is a manual gearbox.
Ian..so what can I fiddle with today that ain't broken ...?
