Goodies just arrived!! I did not expect them this quick.
looks great!
I also ordered a stainlless steel treadplate to join the rear bumper undertray, I have fitted some months ago.
The great news is, that TLO is about 30% cheaper then my Belgian dealer, on the parts that ar not on special offer.
Ill have to hide them from the kids this WE or I'll be forced to do the job right away, dont tell anyone!!!05 TDV6 HSE AUTO 7seats, tonga green/alpaca, alpine roof, privacy glass, tow kit, wood kit, 20" stormers n summer, 18" in winter, fancy exhausts, rear seat ent., club fooked turbo!

The Veba unit i bought was the AV2705 (which has usb & sd card connectivity). I bought via ebay & paid £69 plus delivery which i think is a decent price for a new unit. If you don't need the extra connectivity then they do have some cheaper options.
On fitting the headrests yes i did cut the plastic bars on the top (i prefered this option to punching a hole into the headrest). You cannot tell they have been cut once they are refitted & they are still as firm as before.
On the fitting location the idea of the rear cup holders could be an option, the Veba unit i have is three quarter DIN size & thus is quite a bit smalled than a standard in car radio (in width, length & thickness). Anybody know how to remove the cupholders so that i could remodel the plastic to hold the unit?

Damn
The kids found the box with headrests before I could hide them.
Any tips on how to route the cables through the seats?
Or do I just slide the headrests in and start fishing at the bottom of the seat.05 TDV6 HSE AUTO 7seats, tonga green/alpaca, alpine roof, privacy glass, tow kit, wood kit, 20" stormers n summer, 18" in winter, fancy exhausts, rear seat ent., club fooked turbo!

as you say, jusy remove the old headrest, feed the cable thru & put your arm up the back of the seat & you'll easily find it

Seems like the usual brute force & ingorance method then, i did try searching for those threads - but nothing came up
Thanks for the advise, do you know approx how much space is in there once the holder is removed?

ah yes I was supposed to be posting some pics.....
anyway here are some of the little sod cup holder removed, you need to get something slid in to depress the catches which I have circled on one of the pics (note damage)
make sure there are no kids about when you are doing it as there'll be swearing

Alas, no. I can tell you that it's neither deep nor square; the "floor" rises somewhat as one goes into the cavity. The video player that fitted neatly the aperture couldn't go back more than an inch .
Best get a couple of pallet knives and have a look.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Ok - part 1 'fitting headrests' is done. Black leather with dark grey cloth looks ok to me. I made small holes in new headrests to accept handles. Feeding wires down back of seat is easy peasy.
Part 2 - finding space for electrical supply is proving more tricky. Removed the centre consul but not really satisfactory Suspended further work coz it rained. Guess that power supply to 2 screens from ciggy lighter shouldn't also be used for supply to 2 dvd players? - any thoughts or advice appreciated

The power supply comes from the back of the rear cig lighter, the wiring loom supplied provides a junction spur to take power from there. The instructions supplied are rubbish but the wiring is all common sense.
Thanks for the pictures of the rear cupholders, i'll give that a go this afternoon if our "summer" weather lets up!

I'm out doing mine in this summer weather. I keep looking out the window and thinking it's time for a hosepipe ban Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

I know the weather is bad Nick, but putting a roof on your garden is a bit excessive isn't it
