D3dom, this is what I've bought to provide me with multiple AV inputs to my rear screens (I also have an aftermarket DVD stereo/GPS head unit instead of the original low-line radio, so will be able to send multiple AV inputs to it too). I seem to recall seeing someone else install one of these on this forum before.
This unit feature remote buttons for switching inputs, so the main unit will be mounted beneath one of the front seats and the little switches probably mounted near the cubby box.

Biz, there isn't much in the way of brand names or details on the box or in the instruction manual. The best hint might be "XMS" or the model number (either XMSCA404 or JPP-404AV) but I've also googled those and found next to nothing. Perhaps you can contact the seller and see if he expects to get more in stock soon ?
I'm hopefully going to get around to installing it this weekend. Will let you know how I get on.
cheers
Geoff

Have finslly got round to fitting the head rest screens into a D4 HSE, will try to post pictures in next couple of days but here is some info for anyone wanting to do it to the D4.
Screen fittment is basically the same as the D3 with the exception of the grab handles. I believe the D3 head rests are slightly wider looking at the photos others have posted, as the stiching on the leather runs right on the edge when the screen is in place.
Cables down the back of the seats is exactly the same as the D3, unclip and reach up the back.
Fittment of the two black boxes proved to be fiddly as there was not a lot of room due to the centre cubby cool box but with a lot of juggling and filling a couple of groves for the cables to sit in it fits. The larger of the black boxes that requires earthing had the metal plate removed and the earth cable attached to the gearbox bolt as others have done, the box itself sits in front of the gear selector as there is loads of space there. I could have put all there but it would have meant cutting and splicing cables which I did not want to do.
Have tried it with a large dvd player and it works great.
Biz thanks for the help and pointers, turned out to be the portable DVD players will not run a second screen despite having the AV picture and sound out plugs
Does anyone have any recomendation for HD storage devices, IPOD type storage devices rather than go down the road of two DVD players, one for each screen?MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Managed to get the 4-way AV switch unit fitted over the weekend. Works beautifully ! Can now switch each of the headrest screens individually to either run from the headunit AV output, or from the dedicated AV input sockets at the back of the centre console.
The Avic unit in turn is being driven by an iPod (2nd hand from ebay) - fantastic way of storing lots of movies for the kids as well as songs for the grown-ups.
Installed under the front passenger seat. Quite a mess of cables but out of sight normally.
Both screens running off the Pioneer Avic headunit.

Would it be possible to use two players and get two diffrent films one on each headrest?
Sorry Russel, as I cannot PM yet I will simply use quote:
Right,
Think of the unit as media PC. Hard drive is a storage for your files. It has an ASIC processor with firmware to decode the file content into the video signal. In case of TV input signal it does encoding (if you save the file) and further decoding to bypass it out to the screen output. This particular device has an HDMI output. It also has an HDMI to composite (AV) converter supplied. So you can connect it to the screen.
Next.
You can use any PC application to rip DVD to your hard drive and then copy the outcome to the hard drive of the unit via USB cable. Then play it just by highlighting the folder (DVD structure consists of two files - Video TS and Audio TS). Rip means Copy bypassing protection (if exists). Elaborate bytes Clone DVD does that nicely (http://www.elby.ch/products/clone_dvd/index.html). But file will be about 4.5GB. Quite big for the purpose. I would suggest you use conversion software. DVDFab is my personal favourite (http://www.dvdfab.com/). Does as above and more, such as converts DVD to avi file or Apple, PSP etc formats. Now, avi file is an Mpeg4 encoding, as oppose to DVD which is Mpeg2. In essence, it makes video file smaller. Typically, 1 movie on the DVD would be over 4.0GB = 4000MB. After conversion, it will be around 700MB. You can vary the outcome size by decreasing or increasin bitrate. Anyway, purpose is to obtain much smalle file with minimum loss of quality. You heard about DivX, XViD etc. This are one of the most popular avi family encoding formats. But they all will be seen on your PC as blahblahblah.avi. As an example, when you record a clip on the camera, it is recorded as avi file.
Done with theory now. About the device. Jukebox is a media player. it is a lot of the around, but Dvico Tvix are by far the better ones. Purely to the fact that they play any type of video files. 90% of the video files around nowadays are avi. If you download anything from the net, I bet it would be avi.
So what you do is slot an 2.5" HDD in an an empty Tvix (links you have got allready). Rip or convert DVD on your PC and copy file/folder to Tvix. Connect to the screen, use remote or buttons to navigate to the copied file/folder, press play and avay you go.
Now, It has PVR (Personal Video Recorder) functionality. Read here (http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/pvr.html).
Antennae input on the unit allows viwing and recording of a Digital TV signal (Freeview, also called DVB-T). providing you can get a dissont aerial TV signal in the car you can watch tv or record any freeview signal. I have not tried it yet, but will do once I have a bit more time to experiment.
Conclusion. DVDs or any other video files are easily done, since it is allready on the Tvixes hard drive. TV is the option to explore. Car Power supply to the unit is another option to explore as it is powered by mains as a standard. I would assume is about 12 to 24 DC feed, as any of the portable devices. It is a lot of car adaptors around for such variation. Maplin would a place to have a look.
I do not have a portable Tvix, but only the normal one (http://www.tvix.co.kr/ENG/products/HDM6500.aspx). Check and read this review to understand the principle (http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/video-streamers/dvico-tvix-hd-m-6500a-review-49298114/). I have got 2TB drive with about 400 movies, 1000 music albums, family videos on it. It is next best thing since the sliced bread.

Dear unitedaudio,
Hi there! I was recently pointed at your XMS 4in-4out AV switch which is no longer on sale. I would be very interested to know if you are expecting any further stock and what the shipping costs to Europe might be.
