Available on a well known auction site, in various colours. Search "freelander 2 rear seat". They come from the Unipart depot in Oxford.

Ok I have these and as we are having 2 weekends dragging our new tintent around the UK it might be time to fit them.
How do these work with the LR iPod ACM kit? Can the two be installed at the same time or do I need to bin the LR ACM and use an Apple iPhone/iPod lead and plug it into the rear connectors? Would be a shame to lose the steering wheel ability to skip tracks.
Also, if these use the same "AUX audio in" that the plug between the seats that higher end models use do you suffer from the low volume issues previous folks have mentioned when plugging an ipod into the rear jack?
Cheers

Sat in France enjoying weather and just about to start to fit these into the D4 on the screens supplied you have to remove a plug to release the screen from the headrest does that plug have to be refitted in the D3/4 headrests?MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Are you wanting to get the screens out of the FL2 headrest??
If so then see my post on page 11 of this thread ...explains how to remove them...there is a metal slide that holds them in ....
You certainly don't remove the plug on the end of the cable as that will feed through the headrest pillar.
Cheers

OK started to fit them to D4 slight difference to D3 with regards to amount of foam and the angle seems more. As a result need to try one before cutting and gluing leather. Plunged lads portable dvd in and get an initial picture on head rest screen but this only lasts a second or two picture still shows on portable dvd but does not stay on on head rest screens any thoughts or reason why this is. Could it be that the portable dvd cannot run its own screen plus an additional one ? Head rest screens still illuminated and can make adjustments to contrast brightness etc. Thoughts or ideas please. I use a portable DVD too which will output to both so long as it is set up to do so.
You don't say if there is any sound output to headphones??
This should tell us if it is just a video issue or more general.
Also did you make sure you had a good earth on earth cable as this has caused a few issues.
Cheers

Help please
Ok tried with sound and it does the same, sound comes on briefly as with picture. After more advise and some info on wiring supplied. Come with a small wiring loom clear male plug with one red and one black wire this goes to an Orange female plug with two additional red and black wires going off to a small black connector that is easy as it fits to the black plug on the small control box the one with blue audio cable and two screen cables. There is a second larger box which I believe is a choke this has a black earth cable and two larger red and blue wires ending in a clear male plug. Does this choke box connect to the small wiring loom red to red black to blue or does it connect to the small control box red to blue and blue to red, it can only go this way due to the plug design and shape.
My thought is the choke box would connect to the small control box but it does not seem right that it connects red to blue and blue to red this seems a little odd! This would leave the second pair of cables to supply the middle row aux power socket . Can any one help please or show clear pictures of their wiring install. There are some good pictures on this thread but they do not show easily what connects to what.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Russell, I'm not sure I understand your wiring questions but if I get it right, you're looking to wire the FL2 headrest screens into your D4? If so, the FL2 kit should have among others, these parts (except the red/black wire looped top left - that's for my DVD):
If so, the connections are as follows:
-unplug connector from aux power socket from your car (orange on my MY08 D3)
-plug that into the white female socket of the screens kit power splitter (the one with orange, white and black plugs)
-plug the orange connector of the splitter back to the aux socket in the car
-plug the black connector from the splitter to the black female of the screens power box (middle of the pic, black and blue cable coming out the other end)
-plug the orange male from the above screens power box to the "choke" box white female connector (blue and red cables), bottom left of picture
-plug the blue cable from the screens power box to this plug on the AVIO panel (I have removed mine from its surround):
-connect the black cables from the screens power box to the screens themselves
-connect the black single cable from the choke to a grounding bolt somewhere in the car
If you want the same input to be shown on both screens, use the combiner cables (all red plugs) provided with the kit to join white with white, red with red and yellow with yellow on the AVIO.
Can you please describe a little more your current connections?

Biz thanks for the reply. That is how mine is wired. However I only get picture and sound for about 10 seconds then it disappears. Screen is still on and can Faust contrast etc but no picture or sound. I have two questions . In your picture the power lead that connects in initially appears to have an additional cable/plug is this something you have added. The cable that connects between control box (one with plugs to connect screens to and blue cable) and choke, on mine when the two are plugged together I end up with a red connected to a blue and the blue to the red which seems wrong as if one of the plugs have been wired wrong, is yours the same or does yours go red to red and blue to blue, hope this makes sense.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Question 1: yes, this is a splice I made for the DVD I installed at the same time (I used the same power source and snaplocks)
Question 2: from looking at my pictures as it's now buried underneath lots of trim 8) , the choke has a red and blue wire (red being the positive and blue the earth) and the control box plug that connects to that, has both wires red, but the polarity is correct. Since your screens power up correctly and remain powered (since you can change the settings), the problem lies elsewhere I suspect
Have you tried a different AV source? Are all connections secure? Have you earthed the choke? Have your tried swapping to the other screen to see if the problem is replicated there too? Are you using the RCA (Red, White Yellow) connections to feed the screens or is it through the AUX input the screens have on the side bezel?

It is the same for both screens. The feed from the control box is live via the red wire. However due to the plug set up as supplied by lr this goes to the blue wire on the choke,I suspect that this may be where issue is as you have already said on yours the live is on the red choke wire. Have not been able to try another dvd supply as I am currently in France on holiday but will try this before anything else when I get home but my thought is that the red live from the control box should go to the red wire on the choke and not the blue as is currently wired in the plugs by lr .
Can anyone else confirm the choke live should be via the red cable.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I have just fitted these and am well chuffed with the results but the only drawback, as other people have pointed out, is that you end up with loads of wires trailing around the passenger footwell. At the moment the wife is not convinced, she wants to be able to put a dvd in the cd player.
I would really like to have a Veba dvd hardwired to both screens and hidden away somewhere (I can't face ripping finding nemo and fireman sam to my pc), but also to retain the ability to connect other devices via the inputs in the rear centre console (overriding the veba). Is this possible?
Also, it would be great to be able to see what was on the rear screens through the front one, can this be done?
